If Farrakhan wasn't black, IMO he'd be in jail many times over.
He being a known famous minority has saved his butt over and over as it has Jesse Jackson.

Can you imagine how may times Rainbow Push would have been audited by the IRS if it was not Jackson's organization?

That is a very excellent point.

It comes to a point of how much of a headache does the prosecutor want to take on by charging someone like that...

it is a shame that it comes to that too.

Because they own the unions.

This is true, but the value of their product (unions) is eroding before their eyes.AWB

The ONLY unions that are thriving are in the monopoly of the government, they can not survive in the private sector.

A CA Guy - Thanks for the chuckles tonight. I've got to go to be; have a contest in the morning. Take care and stay safe.

Dangus - You can have your thread back. Good Luck.

It means, Einstein, that the President nominates with the advise and consent of at least 50 senators(+ the V.P. if necessary). It doesn't say he must poll members of his party or a cabal of East Coast scribblers as to who there favorite candidates may be.

"There was an article in the Washington Post about whether mixed marriages (conservatives and liberals) can work. The conclusion was that individual policy disagreements don’t break up marriages; but fundamentally different world views do. Well, conservatives have always trusted George W. Bush’s integrity, but now maybe we are starting to realize it’s the world view that makes this marriage simply not work."

Dang - What about Lib Carville and his GOP wife Mary?
You et al keep forgetting the prez doesn't 'owe' you squat!

Amwolf - Next time I need notable quotables re: flatus I will contact you immediately! ;o)

And, sorry, but the appellate courts don't mean anything at all.

Please name the liberals. BTW do you have any idea how few cases the SC takes a year? The appellate courts mean a great deal in our everyday life.

Get it through you heads, O unhinged ones. The constitution doesn't allow you a say in this matter.

I'm just curious...all of those who support this nomination, what would you do if it was known Miers was left of O'Conner, somewhere between Souter & O'Conner? Would you still support this nomination? Would you say the above? Is there anything that you would fight for against TPTB?

What would YOU do?

I'd would write "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DREAMS WHEN YOU PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET" on the seat of my toilet and tell everyone that we have to go through with the hearings.
