Paul, do you have male friends? You need to find some male friends and get out into the social scene with them. You will gain more confidence that way. You lived a very sheltered life for a long time. You were not with your peers. Therefore, you are understandably shy and introverted.

Well, boys, join the club! ALL of the men in my age range are taken. So, that just means we have to go out into the world and have some new experiences and meet some new people.

Yes, I am in the city. Actually too densely populated if you ask me. Land is scarce in Southern Califonria where I live. No dog. I do like them, but they are lots of work, and expensive. My yard also is pretty small and I have white carpets. I also like to be able to take off and not worry about them being alone. Still, its a consideration.

Yes ever since I was 12. I turn 25 in just over a month.

And btw-- I do my best to "put on a happy face", where Brenda is concerned. I have to, in order for there to be peace among the family.

Besides, most likely, My other cousin, her brother, with the martial problems, will most likely be the topic of discussion tomorrow(today).

There are bad apples in every barrel! I should tell you about some of the dates I have been on since my husband died. These guys all wanted something from me. They did not want to get to know me or talk about common interests. One wanted money, the rest wanted something else. None of them wanted me!

So, you see, guys are not the only ones who have dismal romantic lives at one time or the other.

I do my best to put on a happy face in public too. We can talk about anything. If it makes you feel better than you are more than welcome to.

Once again, I say go where your interests are. You will meet people who share your interests. You will make friends. You have to be friendly to make friends. And SMILE! Smiles bring more people your way than anything else.

Then go to a gym, the YMCA, volunteer at the charity of your choice. There are lots of new friends just waiting to meet you!

I am friendly. All one would need to do is just get to know me for a day. And I try to smile but it is not always easy to put on a geniune smile. I can put on a shy smile lol.

Mine do, too. One lives in Florida, one in California, one in Massachusetts, and one in Alabama. I have driven to Florida and MA, and my Florida friend and I flew to California to meet the one in California. My daughter in Alabama lives near the fourth one who just moved there from Texas. I will visit her in February.

I want to thank all of you, for the open-hearted non-judgemental discussions we have had tonight. If only people I knew around here would be this way I would have it made.

It is a shame, that people are not honest with each other,nowdays, and are only concerned with"what is in it for them". This world would be so much better, if two people, who were interested in each other, would just be honest, and want to be involved with that other person, because they cared about them, and NOT for their money, sex, information, to get another jealous, etc..

But then, I am a dreamer.........
