Welcome!!!

"We're so glad to see so many of you lovely people here tonight...

...We would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Illinois' law enforcement community who have chosen to join us here at the Place Hotel Ballroom at this time. We certainly hope you all enjoy the show and remember people that no matter who you are and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there's still some things that make us all the same...

...You, me, them, everybody..."

"…You know people, when you do find that special somebody, you gotta hold that man, hold that woman, love him, please him, squeeze her, please her, signify your feelings with every gentle caress…because it’s so important to have that special somebody to hold, to kiss, to miss, to squeeze, and please…"

"Spinal Tap, Mighty Wind, Best in Show."

Those are mock-umentaries. Ever seen "The Independent" with Jerry Stiller? It's hilarious.

Most people don't know this, but Clint was only in 3 spaghetti westerns. Sergio Leone all but invented the genre. "Once Upon a Time in the West" is also worth checking (it has Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson).

I'd say whippet/lab, but whippets are so rare!

Too small to be greyhound/lab mix, unless under 6 months.

Let's ask the labmaster (who is not single).

Blam, what genes are we lookin' at here, sir?

I have a Whippet male. He's about a year old. What a energy pack he is. Smart pup.

My late husband was a movie fanatic. All of our dates before we were married were at movies. After marriage, he wanted to go to the movies every week end.

I get more caught up in reading, but I love happy movies and action movies. How's that for a confusing, contradictory thing to say?

Savannah is beautiful. I have visited there. However, it is too hot and muggy for me in the summer. Harm is a Nordic dog and would simply hate it there. And Harm RULES! LOL!

I liked Casablanca, rented it because it was made before I was born I think.

I love Star Wars and my 8 year old grandson does, too. Actually, I had never seen all six until he had to have them. The newest one was awesome. It is better to see that one in the theater.

I still think his face looks like a beagle's. My mother has a thoroughbred miniature beagle. I guess you call those tiny ones miniature.

I bet he was a wonderful dog. You can tell that just by looking at his face.

"Do you hit women? LOL!"

Only the ones who say I'm not humble :)

There's no condradiction in liking happy or action movies. Movies are purely relative: you look at each one and like it because this or that, and like another one because this or that. I'm preferable to any kind of movie (exclude adult, please). Except maybe chick flicks...I don't much like those.

"The newest one was awesome. It is better to see that one in the theater."

The force was with it.

Most people will say the original trilogy was awesome, the first two prequels were bad, and the last prequel (Revenge of the Sith) finally was good again. Personally, I say that all 6 movies are great, except for the second prequel (Attack of the Clones). I am branded for liking the Phantom Menace.

He is beautiful. Love your cat, too. We had one like that named Sneakers. He was a big, tough cat. One of the girls at the vet's asked me why I did not get rid of him and get a nice cat! He was a good cat, just liked his own way. He loved pizza. If any of us were eating a slice, that big paw with long claws would reach out and pull the pizza to him. LOL!

"I bet he was a wonderful dog. You can tell that just by looking at his face."

I would dig up some more pictures of him, but that would require a lot of work (lifting heavy boxes, etc). I love my current dog, too, though. He's just a real REAL handful.

I liked the Dirty Harry movies that Clint Eastwood did. I never saw them in the theater, though. My husband did not like that type of movie.

Best in Show was hilarious.

I loved On Golden Pond. My dad died of Alzheimer's.

Hey! Don't dis chick flicks! Some of those are the best movies made. Have you seen The Wedding Date? You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle? I rest my case.

I've never actually seen Dirty Harry, but I plan to catch it next time it comes on TV.

You can tell by the pic, my cat has it made. He's a very calm, mellow cat. Even moving to a new state didn't affect him. Sometimes the dog gets on his nerves, though.

That cat of yours--sneakers--reminds me of a cat we had when I was a baby (I don't remember, Mom and Dad told me). His name was Black Bart. He's been described as "The scariest cat we've ever met".
