Network for Good is the Internet's leading charitable resource — an e-philanthropy site where individuals can donate, volunteer and get involved with the issues they care about. The organization's goal is to connect people to charities via the Internet — using the virtual world to deliver real resources to nonprofits and communities.

Founded in 2001 by the Time Warner Foundation and AOL, Inc.; the Cisco Foundation and Cisco Systems, Inc.; and Yahoo! Inc., Network for Good is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Bethesda, MD.

In addition to connecting the public with opportunities to give, Network for Good works to advance nonprofit adoption of the Internet as a tool for fundraising, volunteer recruitment and community engagement. It represents a groundbreaking partnership with leading technology and media companies and more than 20 nonprofit foundations and associations who share the desire to foster the informed use of the Internet for civic participation and philanthropy.

We have business contacts in Pakistan who have lost family members in the earthquake. Our group wanted to donate to earthquake relief but the only suggestions where International Red Cross, CARE, or find another charity via Network For Good.

Well, IRC is not on my good list, but I wonder if Network For Good is reliable. Any suggestions?

Hopefully find a church related foreign relief organization. I have learned that organizations that are non profit, can and do pay exorbitant salaries to their administration and advertising, etc. They may be protecting their own welfare. No matter how much money they receive, the portion that actually gets to relief can be small.

I want to know what the results are, what their record shows, etc. Here in the U.S. there are several church organizations that give 100% of donations on to the victims. They pay all their own expenses, etc. "Baptist Mens Relief organization" was great for Katrina
