CHICAGO - Its most famous team is the one that cheated, the one forever branded the Black Sox. Its most enduring image may be the outfielder doused with beer while standing against the outfield wall, or maybe the two drunken fans running onto the field to attack a coach.
Then, again, it may be the decades of losing. Not the romantic kind tied to some mysterious curse, but the kind that comes with simply playing badly.
As the Chicago White Sox take on the Los Angeles Angels for the right to play in the World Series something they haven't done since 1959 and haven't won since 1917 they may be the most maligned or just plain overlooked team in baseball history.

it wasnt dropped.
and the stereotyping has begun.
LOL
probably.
Thankfully my wife listens when the subject happens to involve something I have done, i.e. umpiring.
I have umpired everything up to Colt League.
I want to get my High School umpiring certificate at some point too.
you don't say....Gee what are we debating here then?!?
But that isn't what the umpire ruled. Get that through your head right now.
"They should have instant Reply."
Cheaters p-r-o-o-f, cheaters p-r-o-o-f!
"and the stereotyping has begun."
Poster girl.
why do men always feel the need to degrade women when they dont share their opinions? who teaches you that?
carefull or they will start insluting you based on gender! LOL~
I do know they currently play an hour outside of Los Angeles.
yeah but i dint call them liars and chaters based on their gender, but rather their behavior. however as soon as i told you that i was a girl, you started in with insulting me personally.
You forgot the /sarcasm tag. Didn't you?
nope. they are cheaters and liars. maybe they could get kanye west as their new mascot!!!
You forgot the /sarcasm tag. Didn't you?
I did?
Where?
That wasn't me.
Get it straight.
And the White Sox aren't cheaters.
Shouldn't you be concentrating on game 3 instead of game 2?
Would you be this upset if this play would have happened in the third inning and the Angels still won?
Would you be this upset if the Angels had gotten Chede out and won it in the 10th inning?
It reminds me of all the Cardinal fans who hate Don Denkinger when he blew a call in game 6 of the 85 series. Or the people who think Bill Buckner lost the 86 series, or that Steve Bartman cost the Cubs a shot at the 2003 World Series. The fact is that umpires make mistakes. I believe they are usually HONEST mistakes. Good teams overcome that, and I'm sure Mike Scioscia has told his team to concentrate on tomorrow's game.
i dont believe nor will i ever that the mistake made last night was HONEST.
As you can see, a reasoned approach isn't working here.
