Giant George Auger and Midget Tom Sordie glossy photograph from Kobel collection, 7 x 5 inches, circa 1950
This scene features Welsh giant George Auger (8 foot, 6 inches tall), with Tom Sordie (29 inches tall) poking his head out through the tails of Auger's coat. How exactly Sordie has suspended himself under Auger's coat I'm not quite sure, nor can I explain why he would want to do so. The original photo was probably taken about 1916, during the period when Auger worked for Barnum and Bailey.

"Whatever else is true, that brain is simply too small for an 18,000 year-old hominid," I agree! The hobbits are probably an isolated branch of erectus or another early pre-human.

I agree too.
The brain shape is most like Homo-Erectus and it has a Brocha's Area four times larger than Modern Humans.

This should be obvious, but intelligence isn't closely correlated with brain size within the same species.
Also the correlation that does exist is in the ratio of brain size to body weight. Small people can have smaller brains without being less intelligent.
The configuration of the brain also matters.

If I had deleted "hobbit-sized" from the headline would this have been placed in the News forum?
