Well if you get back out this way (Kalispell area) let me know. I live in the Flathead 16 miles south of Glacier. Been here about 15 years now. It is a beautiful area and it's great to live here if you can afford to.
:)

And that's scary to most guys, so we remain single and therefore independent, and therfore we're scary to guys. ;-)
Cain't win on that one, I guess...except that a nice strong manly guy wouldn't be intimidated. And who wants anything else anyhow?

Gee, wish I would have know that, I would have dropped by!
I didn't think prices in the Kalispell area were high?
Your property taxes certainly are low!
You must get a lot of snow in the winter?
You must hike in Glacier
I wanted to but I had my dog with me, next time
Ever hike in Bob Marshall?

Yep. My riding lawnmower broke, so I had to hire someone to do it. I ran into too many things on that tractor.

Well now you know and you can drop by next time :)
The prices aren't necessarily high, the problem is finding work. This area is very close knit and folks generally find it difficult to break into employment here until they have been here about 5 years. Then it gets easier as you make contacts. Other than that your average job is going to be minimum to 8.00 per hour, which is not really enough to meet rent or house payments.
Property taxes are low compared to many other areas of the country, but as per the above mentioned reasons, alot of folks find it hard to make it here.
Starting a business in the flathead is pretty easy, but again, getting local traffic in can be a challenge.
I don't get much of a chance to hike anywhere actually, a disability due to active Military Service prevents me from doing alot of that. But I do bike ride and swim when the weather permits.
and I"m embarassed to say I have never been into the Bob Marshall altho that's one of the things I would LOVE to do :)
Snow here isn't really too bad most years. The Flathead usualy has a very mild winter compared to the rest of the state lol. The biggest problem we have is the constant freezing and thawing which tends to make the roads extremely slick.
Now that I've told you we don't get that much snow.... I'll be digging my way out of my front door by tomorrow morning :)

Retirement sounds great, and I'm a LONG ways away from that.
That is unless I follow in John Kerry's footsteps, but I have too much pride for that.
To: RosieCotton
I agree with you on that one. Where are they hiding?
