Nixon, Veritek and Mueller were all off in August. Millar never really got it going and while Olerud is a good hitter, he's a liability on the bases. Renteria was up and down all year but at the end of the season he had been getting big hits.
This team needs to be rebuilt. Too many old guys up there at the plate looking to draw a walk instead of mashing the ball when called for. Walks are nice but they don't help when you run into a pitcher who can throw stikes.
20 wins a year are nice but rings are special

Too bad Diva Pedro didn't see it that way and neither did Keith Foulke.

Foulke ruined himself by pitching tons of innings and his knees were bad last year and he didn't say crap.
Pedro is one think, but Foulke and Schilling have definitely shortened their careers from pitching last year when injured. This year proved that.

what I meant was this year. KF has been out trashing Schilling behind his back. And, he was seen at a Bruins game the night of game 2 instead of staying with his teammates.
Foulke also could have gotten his knees handled in the off season but chose not to.
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys.
