In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
nemesis \NEM-uh-siss\ noun
1a. one that inflicts retribution or vengeance
1b. a formidable and usually victorious rival or opponent *
2a. an act or effect of retribution
2b. a source of harm or ruin; curse
*Indicates the sense illustrated in the example sentence.
Example sentence:
The team will be facing their longtime nemesis in the very first round of the playoffs.

Nemesis was the Greek goddess of vengeance, a deity who doled out rewards for noble acts and punishment for evil ones. The Greeks believed that Nemesis didn't always punish an offender immediately but might wait generations to avenge a crime. In English, "nemesis" originally referred to someone who brought a just retribution, but nowadays people are more likely to see animosity than justice in the actions of a nemesis.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Not so much of an issue when your closest neighbor's a mile away, but absolutely imperative in high-population-density Silicon Valley.
In my backyard alone I can pick up/access no fewer than three unsecured networks.
I had a guy come to the house in June and set the whole thing up - we use Avast - I know next to nothing about the system - only that I purchased the Linksys system and he installed it all.........haven't have any problems so far and yes, he said it was safe
The one I'm getting has WEP.
Jee-zus.
It should also have a more secure encryption called WPA (with TKIP? Make sure the router Firmware is current).
Neither one is uncrackable, but both are better than nothing.
