This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Well, this evening Sarah Lee in a bigger pen but the cart still there and she has to come out by a fence of yappers. In my best Texas drawl, I told her, "Sarah Lee, I feel stupid talking to you but I want you to walk past these dogs, thru those two trees and past that pink cart. Nothing is going to hurt you.. I'll be darn if she didn't do it" I had to test this again. I told Okie"now I'm going to wipe your ears. I want you to put your head down. If we don't do this flies are gonna be all over you" He lowered his head and stood there!. lol.
The horse pot on how long it will be before RebaJ has a horse. I pick April:')

You want to hear something cute? Sarah Lee is With the old nags and the horse that was just below her under the pecking order. She's boss mare now and gave me an attitude tonight. Usually she comes right to me . Tonight she ran away from me. She has never done that before. I guess I shouldn't have but I embarressed her in front of her pathetic herd . After I got the halter on I showed her how much fun it was to run (in circles)

Ok, but we are riding this weekend . (and she's already "window shopping":')
The picture of E and DIL was in the Reno Gazette and USA Today on a blurb about the Pony Express Re-enactment. I sure was proud of them that day. We had two hours to make up on our leg and two of our apps and a friend and her app made up an hour and a half of it. The rest was made up by the rest of our leg and we ended up an hour ahead of schedule.

That's a gorgeous picture of Indy and rider. Lacy still so "dainty" The leopard.. oh my He should be in Vegas. I want a foal like tuffy:')
:) This time when I came on to the thread, there was the Viking Kittie Dispatcher - I'm loving these pictures.
The leopard, Friday is really a stressed out, insecure mare. She's proof though that they understand you - if you just reach up and pat her neck before heading into the arena and tell her she's a good girl and is going to knock 'em dead, she acts like an old pro (until she comes out of that gate again)
Oh - those are all fabulous! and those babies, are, without exception! growing up gorgeous!
