I was very shocked and disappointed when I heard that Bush had picked someone that no one knew anything about when there are so many conservative jurists to choose from who have solid originalist credentials, and my Scots-Irish temper went completely off the scale. But if this church's statement of belief reflects Miers' own personal beliefs I think her conscience as a Christian will compel her to honestly interpret the Constitution according to the intent of the authors, and no one conservative ask for anything more than that.
Good post.
As for Miers, she's an evangelical, mission-sponsoring pro-life Christian. She's loyal to GWB.
...And she chaired the research team that picked Judge Pryor from Alabama and Judge Janice Rogers Brown from California.
My biggest complaint is that she's too old. I'll live.
Only time will tell what Ms Miers really believes regarding Constitutional interpretation, but for now at least I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt until I see how she votes in the upcoming SC term. That's something I couldn't have said this morning, but that was when my Scots-Irish temperament was boiling over. Right now I'm too tired to even have a temperament, Scots-Irish or otherwise.

Is she still a member of that church, or did she leave with Ron Key to start a new fellowship? If so why?
