2005 MLB POST SEASON MATCHUPS
ALDS
BOSTON RED SOX VS. CHICAGO WHITE SOX
NEW YORK YANKEES VS. LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM
NLDS
SAN DIEGO PADRES VS. ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
HOUSTON ASTROS VS. ATLANTA BRAVES
Brandon McCarthy only has a 1.61 ERA as a ChiSox starter since he became a fulltime member of the team in August. So, Ozzie left him off the playoff roster. He didn't want to be able to send him in when we pound Contreras tomorrow.
Send gift baskets to: Ozzie, White Sox Clubhouse...
I'd like to see them bring back Mueller, get a first baseman (Olderdude, Petagine, or let Ortiz play the field and get another slugging OFer, whatever), and have Youkilis play 3rd and 1st. They should be able to find a low cost player regardless. I like having a starter ready to go if somebody gets hurt. Maybe a 1B/RFer like Millar (except better) considering the odds that Trot will get hurt again.
Ozzoe has the problem of too much pitching....
McCarthy is tough but so isn't Hernandez.
Ortiz is Giambi in the field with a better arm. Billy can stay but they need another bopper in that line up. Trot gets hurt too often and they still don't trust him vs. LHP and Tek wears down from catching.
Thome would be nice as a #5 guy in that line up.
Still, it's hard to argue with picking a 45-year-old erratic starter who's gotten rocked the last two months.
who are you talking about?
We are lucky we got that.
The Mute Button will solve all of that.
He is doing it because he doesn't trust him in the playoffs. Which, I think, is misplaced.
Eh, not if I go to the kitchen for a snack and need to hear what's going on with the game in case I need to turn around real quick and watch. Besides, watching in silence is weird.
I think the 36 year old El Duque.
I know it is weird but I cannot handle Buck and Morgan and the other one. I would rather listen to my breathing. Sundays game was grueling, "thats Manny being Manny" over and over again. I wanted to just poison myself.
I see...
Yes, the (ahem) "36 year old" El Duque.
Boston is the headquarters of most anti-Americanism and you are whining about someone's father?
Won't matter if the White Sox's pitching is at its norm. In that case Boston won't have a chance. Just walk Ortiz and Popi and don't worry about the rest.
Get ready to cry into your beans.
I wonder if he'll be on the post season roster.
Other than John Miller the ESPN baseball broadcasters are painful to listen to. I turn down the volume and turn on Joe and Jerry.
It's all about the number of potential viewers.
Varitek needs to call a good one tomorrow.
