BFD. I dont see how anyone would be beating their chest over this.
For $240,000,000 they need to do nothing less than win the WS.

At that payroll, they should have clinched a month ago.

At that payroll, they should have clinched a month ago. Exactly. Especially considering the Sox lost both their closer and their ace for the season (Curt is just a good pitcher at this point).
Skankee fans would pay to see their team of steroid-shooting cheaters beat up on little leaguers as long as they win.

Am I right that I read the Pads won the West with a whopping 79 wins?
Looks like their playoff tenure will be that "cup of coffee" visit.

The Yanks should beware of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim And Surrounding Communities in the Southern California Area.

Don't shorten the name without the express written consent of Angels baseball and MLB commissioner Bud Lundeberg.

If the Red Sox lose again tomorrow, and Cleveland wins, it would mean they were in a tie for the wild card. There would be a one game playoff for the wild card.
That's a lot of ifs, and Cleveland could've already had it with just a few hits with men in scoring position.

Sheffield hit a two-run shot as New York took a 3-0 lead in the first. "I took responsibility for all the guys," he said. "I just told them ride me all the way." Sheffield wants to be--and thinks he is--THE Big Guy on this team, but he's not. A-Rod is the MVP, and Jeter is the heart and soul of the Yankees.
I do like some of the guys on the Yankees, but not Sheffield.

The Dodgers will be back! All we have to do is make some management changes such as replacing La Podesta. Also, an ownership committed to winning- nothing else will be accepted. The Dodger organization has anything the Yankees have.
Whenever the Dodgers are eliminated, then I root for the Anahiem Angels. The Angels will breeze past the Yankees.

Alex Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield and Hideki Matsui homered, and Rodriguez had four hits. . . . Ladies and gentleman, presenting your 2005 American League Most Valuable Player, Mr. A. Rod.
It will NOT be--nor should it be--that half-a-player DH David Ortiz, as good and as clutch as he has been in the batter's box.

Today: Congratulations NY Yankees.
When the playoffs start: Yankees Suck!
The get a break for a couple of days.

Chemistry is a helluva lot more important than payrolls.
Plenty of low payroll teams have won the WS and plenty of high payroll teams sit home in Oct. watching the games on their plasma TVs.
When the Yanks win the whiners bitch about how they have an "unfair advantage" due to their huge payroll and when they lose they both marvel and rejoice that a team with such an advantage didn't win it all.
It's real tired.

Tomorrow the Yankees will again beat the Red Sux and the hard luck Cleveland Indians will begin a two game winning streak.
