I did mechanic work in a Ford dealership here in 69 that had a Talladega Torino in for something or other. It was different from the stock version in wonderful ways... at first glance, it looked Canadian. At second glance, this pup was built to run with the big dawgs. The one we had in was dark steel blue with flat black hood and stripes. She was gorgeous.

For some reason I think Childress doesn't have his heart in racing. It's not been the same for him since Dale Sr died IMO.
For Jr fans..
On another note, if you remember Ty Norris who was executive vice president of Dale Earnhardt, Inc., [rumored to have left because of disagreement with Teresa] and who was quoted as being very upset over the team switches and the horrible season DEI is having. But instead of going back to help he does this.......
In the new Nascar Scene magazine.....
Michael Waltrip has hired former DEI executive TY NORRIS to manage his operation, including the "Waltrip Racing World" which will intergrate his race shop as part of a fan attraction.
From Catch Fence a short bio on Ty Norris....
He was hired in 1996 to oversee Dale Earnhardt's fledgling racing operation and under Norris' guidance DEI grew into one of the industry's super teams. During Norris' tenure, DEI won 65 NASCAR events and four championships, two each in the NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In 1998, he helped start DEI's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series operation which scored 14 victories, including two Daytona 500 wins, in six seasons.
Prior to DEI Norris was vice president and general manager of Felix Sabates' SABCO Racing. He also spent four years with R.J. Reynolds' Sports Marketing Enterprises where his duties evolved from media relations to serving as a liaison between NASCAR's drivers, team owners and track operators and the series sponsor.

Ya they better bolt down the tools LOL he's taking everything with him.
Did everyone read where the 48 and the 5 both failed post race inspection last week? Nascar confiscated springs from 6 teams including theirs. Some of the drivers commented during the race about how come those two cars right rears were so jacked up.

If Dale, Sr. were still alive, would DEI have found some way to give Mikey a contract?
DEI is not the same without Senior, we know it. But Theresa called a lot of the shots back then, and she is still around.
All I care is that DEI fields three full-time Cup cars, in order to be competitive with Rousch and Hendrick on the amount of information they can learn about a track and set-up. And it doesn't look like I am going to get that before 2007, if even then. :-( That is why the RCR merger excites me and I hope it is true.
That is the reason I was excited about the rumor Daddy Menard was going to sink some huge amount of ca$h into DEI, to move Paul up, but that didn't happen.

I'm quite fond of Black Dog Ale on a lazy afternoon. I used to have those, occasionally. Not unless you got a private stash. They went out of business a couple years ago. The family now works an even smaller brewery near Monterey, CA. I heard very occasionally they will offer BDA on tap. But for the most part it is done and gone.

Childress needs another champ. Though I do respect Happy, I don't think Harvick has the drive to be a champ. Watch his position changes week to week. He seems to have developed Kyle Petty disease.
Childress is a smart cookie, and the right stuff will link up. When? Who knows...
It'll happen.
