How did the Gaghans do the task of picking up the soldiers so effortlessly?????? ALL the other teams that did this task ( including the sister & her 3 brothers ) were struggling & sweating, but the Gaghans barely broke a sweat .....and they essentially had only two adults to pick up the stretchers. I smell a bit of a "fix" here.....just doesn't seem plausible. I'll bet that when they started the task, the lightest "soldiers" ( some of them kids ) were "cued" to take a fall as opposed to the adults that all the other teams had to pick up.

Maybe so but the Gaghans were one of the few teams that successfully pulled the Amish carriage a mile and a half. The two parents may be very fit. Some on the show look like couch potatos.

If this was the case, and I think it is highly probable, then I am sure that these kind of details were worked out before the race with all the teams. It is obvious that something as physically challenging could not have included the small kids, so some kind of agreement would have to have been made.
Whatever, I think the Gaghans are a great team, those poor kids were searching for 2 hrs at the wrong pool but you do did not see any signs of bickering or fighting. They seem a strong united family and I want them to win. : )

Both Mom and Dad Gaghan are marathon runners so they probably have more endurance than any of the other teams.

The task said all the family had to carry the wounded. I think as long as all 4 people were there, it counted. There were two shots of the Gaghans carrying the wounded. Mom and son were on the front and dad was on the rear with the daughter holding onto the side of the stretcher handle.

Technically, the daughter was there but the dad was doing most of the grunt work. I don't think there is a fix in.

I was hoping the Rogers or the Paolos would get eliminated...too bad they couldn't both have been taken out. If I was in the Paolos car i would tell everybody to let mom and/or the youngest son do the driving and the navigation and just sit back and watch the train wreck. Those two are so annoying with their back and forth "I told you so, you never listen to me" bickering. ugh!

Also, why does it seem like half the teams navigate like they have never touched a map in their life?

Mom and pop Gaghan are in topnotch shape, as you may recall from their sprinting around with the buggy last week while other teams faded. IRL, stretchers are carried by two men, not more. So two young, trained, toned, conditioned, buff people, male and/or female should have no problem. Their kids are conditioned athletes too, and the boy was able to help a lot. I think they are sort of a model family for family fitness and I hope they go far.
