Probably, though I expect their O-line will perform better in 3 weeks than they have been, o-line tend to get better as the season wears on. The big thing for proving the Colts D though is the receivers, they simply haven't faced any Tory Holt's or Isaac Bruce's yet this year, much less both at once. It's easy to stop an offense when the QB is throwing to generic receiver number 9, gets a little harder up against pro-bowlers.
The protection seemed to get better as the game went on.
The Rams should run at him to try and wear him down but they won't.
I definitely predict a Colts win, but the question to me is how many points are the Rams going to score. The the Colts D holds them to 17 or less I will join the bandwagon annoiting them as great, 20 to 28 is still good but not great, anything past 30 though and the old Colts D could be rearing it's ugly head.
we will see of course, but the Browns don't have generic receivers nor do the Ravens.
Besides the Colts Defense will only get better because Mike Doss will be back on the field by then.
Having Tory Holt and Issac Bruce is great, but if Mark Bulger is on his arse it won't matter much.
nope. I am calling it now, he will pin his ears back and have at least 3 sacks in that game.
the Rams should be a running power house. Stephen Jackson could be a very good back
yeah, but I wonder if they will stick with a rookie on the left tackle side.....
That happens when you're behind, especially when you have a QB like Manning. Coaches get hungry for the quick strike to get the team back in the game, when the right answer is exactly what the Pats did yesterday grind the clock and get the opposing D out of the game. I'm still not entirely convinced Dungy is a playoff caliber coach, great in the regular season but his general lack of putting the cherry on top causes me great question.
I think their weakness on defense have been more in their secondary than up front. Dungy has commented that when good quarterbacks have gotten time they've been able to convert those third and longs too easily.
Don't get me wrong I like the Rams and I like Bulger, I think he is a good QB... Your coach does need to run Jackson a little more than he does. Take notice of what San Diego did last night with Tomlinson... They actually won a game.
If I were a Rams fan I'd want a new coach who would do just that.
If Belichick thinks he can do the job then he will.
LOL
they can have Bubba Butch Davis LOL
I know....but that would worry me if I were a Pats fan.
I think Derrick Mason and Antonio Bryant are classic examples of the generic receiver, they make key catches but nobody is going to rank them with Holt and company. And below them on their respective depth charts it just gets less impressive.
Maybe they'll get better maybe not.
They're still getting decent points now with Bulger on his arse.
I think Tomlinson is the best back in the league. The Pats will be looking to contain him next week.
Do you think he'll ever get another head coaching offer in the NFL?
A problem I'm quite familiar with. I think we discussed that era of the Steelers 2 weeks ago.
In Bill we trust.
