That's the whole point of our offense. Work the count, be patient, get on base, wear down pitchers, look for pitches to hit AND AS A RESULT drive the ball and score lots of runs.
For the first time in his career Jay Gibbons is breaking .500 slugging (he's AT .500 now). Yet he's STILL only a better-than-average OFer because he doesn't get on base. A few more 0-for-4's and he's right back at mediocre.
I saw Gibbons walk a few times this past weekend and I see him only getting better. Besides, he also plays out of position.
