I sure was. The way Brady was playing, I knew we were in trouble. I was hoping the defense had one big play left in it, but I think they were out of gas by that point.
How do you figure you "gave" us chances?
The way I see it, our O-line stepped up BIG TIME in the 2nd half (esp. 4th Q) and made your pass rush useless against Brady pickin' your exhausted 2nd-ary apart.
Plus OUR pass rush finally became effective in rattling Ben's cage.
I'll be interested to see how they do against the Steelers.
I thought Cowher should have run the ball and tried to have burn some clock.
His stats were pretty good as well.

Cowher should make Randle-El carry a football everywhere he goes this week.
One of the oldest rules of football:
Find me a QB with great stats for a game and I'll show you a QB that was behind for most of the game.
Fun thing to do on Tuesdays during the season is check the top 5 stats on ESPN or NFL.com. They usually have the top 5 QBs and RBs by stats for the week right up front and easy to spot, most of the time at least 4 of the top 5 QBs lost and at least 4 of the top 5 RBs won.
The Dolphins of the early 70's ran the ball all the time and won two Super Bowls. Dan Marino's Dolphins didn't win one.
He said after the game that it wasn't a bonehead play. I thought it was the definition of a bonehead play.
Well they couldn't run the ball. The usual dynamic is that when teams are uncomfortably behind they abandon the run which tends to give your QB great stats (unless he's an interception machine), and teams that are comfortably ahead abandon the pass giving the RBs great stats. Some pass whacky coaches like Reid don't always follow these rules, but 90% of the time if you see a QB with more than 300 or 350 yards of passing it's going to be in a losing effort where the team spent most of the game down two scores or worse.
You never say to the press it was a bonehead play because you don't want to provide players that maybe didn't give a stellar effort an excuse, while it was bonehead it was early enough in the game we could have/ should have overcome it. You win as a team you lose as team. Great game by the Pats, wierd schedule this year, we both have the Chargers as our next opponent (you next week us after the bye).
No offense was intended. I just meant that we did not take advantage in the first half when you were not playing as well. Between Randle El's fumble and kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns we left a lot of points on the field. You can't do that against a team as good as the Patriots.
They have a tough one but you have to play the hand you're dealt.
The AFC West got a mean schedule this year, because of the division rotation they got the AFC East (competing head-to-head with the North for best division in the league) and the NFC East (only good division in the conference), which also means a lot of coast to coast travel (poor Raiders only team in NFL history to face both of last year's conference champions on the road and to do it in the first 3 weeks). I just thought it was really funny looking at the ESPN splash sheet of our game yesterday with both next opponent listings saying Chargers, made me go "huh?" for a second until I remembered we're on the bye for week 4.
Ya, sorry I got a lil' pissy.
It's just I hate that "we beat ourselves" mantra (so often used by Colts fans).
Between Randle El's fumble and kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns we left a lot of points on the field.
Both teams played sloppy in the first half.
The Pats left AT LEAST 10 points on the field with that fumble and int in the Red zone.
Not a problem, I was afraid I had given you guys a backhanded compliment when I was trying to give you a real one. Better team won. And as I was telling Mainepatsfan, now all that stands between you and global (or at least AFC) dominance is the mighty Bengals.
