This is interesting. When Sam Francis was still six feet above the ground, he wrote a column excoriating Terrell Owens and s white actress for a similar commercial. I'd venture to guess that both characters in this NHL (Go Stars!) commercial here are white.

So I guess this would have been fine with Francis.

The TO commercial has no similarity to this. The NHL commercial is basically a take off on a fairly generic scene from many high fantasy movies where a woman (usually a princess or lover interest or both) prepares a warrior for battle. All very stylisting, a little over the top and silly, and nobody drops a towel.
