Here's the bulletin that was sent out to all pilots earlier today. David Gregory had at least this much info (well, his handlers had it...he's personally as dumb as a stump):
==> ATTENTION PILOTS <==
FAA TO ESTABLISH TFRs OVER TEXAS, GULF COAST THIS WEEKEND AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Texas and the Gulf Coast area that the FAA is expected to issue notams restricting flight in the area during President Bush's possible visits from Friday, September 23, to Sunday, September 25.
Based on information from the White House, the president's schedule is flexible, but it is possible that he could visit Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama in the wake of Hurricane Rita. He is scheduled to monitor Rita from Colorado Springs, Colorado. AOPA anticipates that the notams will establish large temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) limiting general aviation flight. Typically, these presidential travel-related TFRs are 60 nautical miles in diameter (30-nm radius) and contain one or more smaller general aviation no-fly zones. AOPA will post the notams on AOPA Online ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html ) as soon as possible after they are issued. Graphics will also be available.
" He is scheduled to monitor Rita from Colorado Springs, Colorado. "
That was the plan all along and that is what he did.
