Rush ran an exchange today between NBC's David Gregory and the President...where Gregory hectored him about going to San Antonio, saying, "aren't you going to be in the way? What can you do there?"
The announcement at the bottom of the hour was that Bush now will NOT be going to Texas, and instead will just go to the Northern Command in Colorado.
It looked to me like the President lost his temper for a split second, and then recovered before he pulled Gregory's heart out between his tonsils.
Last August, members of the press repeatedly referred to Hurricane Andrew, while Bush was giving a press conference about one of the 4 hurricanes that occurred in 2004.
The press was so determined to show that Bush was incompetent, that they repeatedly dredged up references to a hurricane from 12 years before.
President Tours Hurricane Damage, August 15, 2004
Q There was some consternation after Andrew that the federal aid didn't arrive soon enough. Can you promise that there will be a more expeditious response this time?THE PRESIDENT: It's happening now -- [snip]
Q Mr. President, some people are going to say that there's a political component to your rapid visit to Florida.
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, and if I didn't come they would have said, he should have been here more rapidly.
Q Yes. (Laughter.)
Q What about what happened in '92, with Hurricane Andrew? That was obviously in August of a presidential --
Thank you, the truth is still around here.
" He is scheduled to monitor Rita from Colorado Springs, Colorado. "
That was the plan all along and that is what he did.
Is that true?
Perhaps because he stands out in a crowd - the guy goes at least 6' 4".
I can. It's part of the liberal media code book. You can bet that they did not use that term with Clinton. The bad part is that Bush played along.
