We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
CAT IV HURRICANE RITA ADVISORY PACKAGE #23

[NOTE: This information is drawn primarily from the NHC/TPC.]
RITA has completed an eyewall replacement cycle and maximum winds are at 140 MPH and an eye that is 40 miles in diameter. Recon aircraft noted a new wind maxiuma at 65 miles from center, so it is possible that RITA is beginning yet another eyewall replacement cycle.
Course guidance is solid through landfall and up to VT +72 hours. Landfall is predicted near Sabine Pass, TX. As RITA is again over the Loop Current, some strengthening could take place; however, shear is increasing from the south. If strengthening occurs as forecast, landfall should occur with 145 MPH winds.
After landfall, a major flooding event appears to be shaping up for Arkansas and NE Texas as RITA will likely stall near Texarkana at VT +72 hours.
Landfall is forecast for 5 AM CT tomorrow.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
hello
AHH I can imagine.
Ahh, yesss... ;) [W.C. Fields]
Thanks Jim. This is very hard to watch. Poor, poor Galveston.
I noticed earlier...Fox or TWC was showing the Holiday Inn on Seawall Blvd. where my sister and I stayed on 01.
Also, we had supper one night at the Resort they keep talking about...on top of the old WWII gun emplacement thingy...Apparently the Galveston security forces are staying there in that built up and sturdy hotel
And our parents when they were first married had their apt. right behind that spot. It was called Ft. Crockett:-))
GO TRIBE!!
Great link, W....
Wonder when we'll see some of the stuff from this storm up here?
hi
I have to do a couple of things...will return and check for you reply. Good going trying to FReep!
And Dog....thanks...
Tomorrow, you'll be typing 2+ words...you'll see!! :-))
palm of hand sore as a boil
fingers still swollen
restraint is really tight around my arm
LOL...you boys!!
Did anybody else catch the Fox Report with Shep?! That had to be the most hillarious 2 minutes in the history of television! He was interviewing that Abe guy with the NHC and old Abe told him the storm surge in Port Arthur was likely to be 15-20 feet high, and he said, wait a minute, I'm in Port Arthur! I almost fell out of my bed I was laughing so hard...
Can someone losen the restraint a little for you?
I remember having that feeling too.
Hope you start feeling better soon.
So Ole Shep had no clue where he was, huh??? LOL
Is this hurricane going to hit near you?
I'm back - but long trip !!! -- think I may sleep in tomorrow
Oh, look at that sweet Yorkie!!
I had a yorkie named Doc; I named him after a horse my grandpa had.
I hope they rerun it so I can save it on video. It was truly classic. I'd rate it a 10 on the unintentional comedy scale.
We've gotten steady rain and some gusts, but nothing major from Rita, but of course, in the immortal words of Billy Joel, the night is still young...
