AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1707) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | September 23, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 09/23/2005 4:26:33 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

CAT IV HURRICANE RITA ADVISORY PACKAGE #23

[NOTE: This information is drawn primarily from the NHC/TPC.]

RITA has completed an eyewall replacement cycle and maximum winds are at 140 MPH and an eye that is 40 miles in diameter. Recon aircraft noted a new wind maxiuma at 65 miles from center, so it is possible that RITA is beginning yet another eyewall replacement cycle.

Course guidance is solid through landfall and up to VT +72 hours. Landfall is predicted near Sabine Pass, TX. As RITA is again over the Loop Current, some strengthening could take place; however, shear is increasing from the south. If strengthening occurs as forecast, landfall should occur with 145 MPH winds.

After landfall, a major flooding event appears to be shaping up for Arkansas and NE Texas as RITA will likely stall near Texarkana at VT +72 hours.

Landfall is forecast for 5 AM CT tomorrow.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Our HEB's closed yesterday. I think I'll take a short walk and see if Hwy 6 is still bumper to bumper or if it's back to normal.

Barak Obama is voting, "No," because he said Roberts has always stood up for the strong and not the weak.
Dunce.

LOL. There was a pretty lengthy statement released by Her Shrillness about her reasons why she isn't voting for Roberts.

I started to read it but it made so little sense that I stopped. Whenever stuff doesn't make sense, it's not 'cause we aren't smart enough. It's because it literally does not make sense :-)

It stormed here all night, Dolly. I heard continuous thunder over about 6 or 7 hours.

I haven't been paying close enough attention to know if this is the same storm system that roared through Minnesota?

I mentioned on the Dose that Eric went outside (barefoot) in those 70 mph straightline winds and rain just for the fun of it.........and he lives north of the Twin Cities where the storm was at its worst! (He said there were multiple trees uprooted and going every direction right on the campus).

I am SO impressed with the way the Tribe is playing! Are we really going to be in the playoffs again this year?? Am I going to have a problem with sleep deprivation again because I stay up night after night watching them? :)

Prayers for those in Rita's path. My dear friend who lost her home (it's still under water) near Canal St. in NO, evacuated to live with her son in Houston, and was distraught that they had to evacuate from there.

There are many in the same situation who need our prayers....

oh dear on your friend.. I think I read about that on the dose but was more or less skimming & of course the funny story about boychild #1. Isn't it nice to have kids with "spunk"?

I sleep very well with storms (I think it is the negative ions). The dogs were not very happy with God's fireworks last night.

Correction......boychild #2......but they're both crazy enough to do something like that. Eric wanted to chase storms for a living, so he was really pumped up when I talked to him. He thought the whole thing was great...

About sleeping...... I can't sleep with irregular noise so thunder doesn't work well for me in the sleep department. Then again, I also can't sleep with regular noise, so a clock ticking keeps me awake.

I'm a whitenoise sleeper...........a nice humming fan does the trick.

I heard later that it may have been sparks from the brakes that ignited the fuel tank. The Oxygen tanks were mentioned secondarily at that point.

Terrible thing, poor souls..
