Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
CAT IV HURRICANE RITA ADVISORY PACKAGE #23

[NOTE: This information is drawn primarily from the NHC/TPC.]
RITA has completed an eyewall replacement cycle and maximum winds are at 140 MPH and an eye that is 40 miles in diameter. Recon aircraft noted a new wind maxiuma at 65 miles from center, so it is possible that RITA is beginning yet another eyewall replacement cycle.
Course guidance is solid through landfall and up to VT +72 hours. Landfall is predicted near Sabine Pass, TX. As RITA is again over the Loop Current, some strengthening could take place; however, shear is increasing from the south. If strengthening occurs as forecast, landfall should occur with 145 MPH winds.
After landfall, a major flooding event appears to be shaping up for Arkansas and NE Texas as RITA will likely stall near Texarkana at VT +72 hours.
Landfall is forecast for 5 AM CT tomorrow.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LET'S ROLL!!!
Good morning!!
Today News:
The FreeRepublic continues to do battle with Code Pink....
g'morning
Any chance of Rita's wind reaching Little Rock and pulling down the stilts holding up that double-wide clinton lie-bury?
Morning chair. and thanks for the thread & for the hurricane updates as you have time to provide them. I read on the hurricane thread the past few days that the hits on the sites & the posting of pix/links has really seriously impacted the servers(obviously).
BTW, "the thread" will be sometime in early Oct. We have had some "changes" at the Finest & are juggling a few things. I will let you know.
I am still trying to juggle a few things to get there. Just when one thing frees up, 4 more things "get in way" . Will see.
Now that would be a great "act of God", wouldn't it? HEHEHE
It's an ill-wind that blows nobody good.
I'm praying now to remove them.
Then we'd have BREAKING NEWS: Library Fund Raising Reactivated. (Bush's fault)
Good morning! My niece has a laptop while in Dallas, so they will have another way to communicate. I slept in a little bit this morning...too much playground duty yesterday, I guess.
The other day, when my computer just stopped, I picked up the phone to call about it, and my phone was also out. I picked up my cell phone to report the outage, and the battery in it was low. (I had forgotten to recharge it the night before).
Even if I had been able to use the cell phone, being put on a 15-30 minute hold to listen to music instead of getting a real person on line would have used up too many of my minutes.
So I had to drive into town...4 miles away...to report it at the tel. office and learned that a construction crew had cut a cable line, AND that there was "no telling how long" it would take to restore the power. Grrrrrrrrrr.
Good morning folks. How are you doing IG?
Thank you. I really mean that! and will look forward to seeing you if I make it.
I hate techno snafus like that!
A bus full of elderly evacuees has exploded on I-45 on a bridge. Reported on Fox, no explanation.
There is fun all weekend.
Good morning. I see that Hillary is going to vote against Judge Roberts.
Prayers for all in the storm's path.
I was just watching that. It seems so odd. Busses don't just explode.
