Most of us remember the excitement of the BIG DAY. That day, after living in your parents' home for 18 (in some cases 25) years, we finally asserted our independence and moved out of the house!
Whether we were heading off to the "city" to work, or starting our college lives, joining the armed forces, or just finding a space so we could party with our friends, the sense of finally being an adult was intoxicating.
Then Reality set in. We quickly realized that the paltry money we were earning barely covered the rent. Top Ramen instead of Mom's potroast, generic Corn Flakes instead of Captain Crunch. The solution to this problem, of course, was roommates.....at least in theory.
Since we've all survived those crazy days between leaving home and getting married, it is time to share the tales of Roommate Horror!
I'll start.....
I peaked to see if you had a pic on your profile page. hehehe. No luck.
Good to see that you are another Catholic. We are becoming quite the presence on FR. :o)
Could have been worse. Could have been 5:00 AM Rap and a freezer full of chitlins. ;o)
Yuck. A furnished apartment with tacky (and probably stained) furniture...*shudder*.
Where were you that you had scorpions? When I lived in Phoenix, and would find them in my closet and under the bed.
LOL. I would have done the same thing! ;o)
I don't know what you are talking about. I am 25 years old. ;)
Ba dum dum ching!
My story has to do with Icy Hot and underwear...
....while romancing women in their fifties. That's impressive! ;o)
All of my current favorites are actually between 25 and 35...yes, I'll date women ten years older than me. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. ;)
LOL. Right! You are near my age if I recall!!
I admit it. I'm 41. I don't know how it happened, either.
whens the B-day? Mine is this 9/25. The big 42!!
Happy birthday, BTW! You need to go down to Vegas for a few days, and cruise the Strip with HitmanNY and me. I'm sure your wife wouldn't mind... ;)
Luckily the only rap the kids were listening to when I was in shool was the Beastie Boys. And that was more than enough. :) It was the dawn of the age of Grundge. I hated that crap almost as much as Country and rap.
Hey, Is there a Pissant Ping list. f so put me on please.
Thanks you! I get to work the weekend to celebrate. LOL
She won't mind as long as I take her. Then I can maybe squeeze an hour or two in with you guys before giving the baby a bath! ;o)
I do not have a PING list. But I've been threatening to create one for about 2 years! ;o)
I lived in a little town called Weaverville in Nothern California at the time. When I was a teen my Mom and my Step Dad moved us to a town called Valley Springs, CA. We had scorpions there too. Those were just the little ones. I remember me and my sister laughing into our pillow one night as we heard my Step father yelling, cussing and slapping at himself. Aparently one had crawled in bed with him.
The fond memories of childhood! LOL
I put them on his bed LOL
- he only left after I caught him flogging molly one afternoon when he thought I had gone home to my parents
