I like it!
Much better than some song parodies I've seen here.
To: Constitution Day
CD, did Floyd flood you out? We were high and (relatively) dry over here on Avent street, but two blocks over folks were getting rescued by boat.

Well, the song has been going around in my head of late. Nice to have some more appropriate lyrics. "Fixing a Hole (Where the Rain Gets In)" also comes to mind.

As long as you don't start getting too chummy with Sean Hannity and Hugh Hewitt, DFU may let you slide! ;o)

Creative lyrics. Did I hear an "IMAGINE" request? From the archives ---
MIDI - IMAGINE
Imagine no Sarandon
and no Martin Sheen
Farrell's aborted
Assner remains unseen
Imagine all these a-hoes
just going away
(I can dream)
There is no Sean Penn preaching
and Jessica Lange croaked
We won't have to hear Baldwin
Clooney's a washed-up joke
Imagine all these a-hoes
just going away
You might tell me
.DFU, you're too much of a dreamer
But, oh, that world would be great
Perhaps at least we could go and gag them all
That's a FReep we would love to celebrate
Imagine Barbra Streisand
keeping her big nose
Out of our leaders' war plans
'cause those guys are pros
Imagine all these a-hoes
just going away
You might tell me
.DFU, you're too much of a dreamer
But, oh, that world would be great
Perhaps at least we could go and gag them all
That's a FReep we would love to celebrate

No, it didn't.
I live in Edgecombe County, approx. 1/2 mile south of the Tar River.
Our side of the river is at a higher elevation than the N side, which got clobbered.
However, due to the proximity of the creeks, we were on a virtual island for days.
No houses close by (within ~1 mile) on our side of the river got flooded, so my friend & I helped out by cutting fallen trees, etc.

Ok, help me here,
What is the tune of this song (OK, so I don't know...shoot me!)
