Good Thursday morning to everyone!
I decided to take leave for the remainder of the week. With my commute to work being 56 miles roundtrip, I figured I better save the gas I have in my fuel tank & get prepared for Rita. I understand from posts from other threads that it's taking 12 hours for people to take the highway from Houston to Austin.
I dont know what the gasoline situation is today in the Bryan/College Station area but yesterday evening it was still fine. I will check later.
Finally, the NY Yankees are back in FIRST PLACE!

GOOD A.M. TO ALL FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!
Here is another one, buckle down and get ready, get your wallet ready too, gas prices getting ready to go through the roof.
Chicken report...Bill crowing up a storm (no pun intended), fool thing won't shut up. I am thinking of naming one Col Sanders, one of the new ones I have. Chickens caught eating my dog food, wouldn't[t surprise me if they don't start barking and h howling at the moon. Total population, 19 hens, one rooster, poor ole rooster.
Expect the tide surge here of 3 to 5 feet, won't impact us that much.
Bodies found floating at sea, the ones swept out are being located.
Traffic a mess. Nothing else can be said on this one.
Grocery stores running specials on foods, won't be selling many can goods, the aid stations are loaded up with them and will swamp you with every thing that can be canned if you go bay a place giving away the foods.
A HIPPI school bus is parked just out of town, has clothes. food, water giving them to storm victims AND have set up 2, 3 man tents for folks to sleep in. Yep, the hippies are doing a very good job.
Not much to report on this morning, just pray for the folks in the path of Rita, they need them.

Good morning! Prayers for those in Rita's path, and who are struggling to survive Katrina.

Good morning everybody.
Like everyone else, I am afraid to leave the news for too long a stretch.
I don't know what else to do but pray for those in the path of this monsterous Rita.
We all have so many FRiends in the Houston/Galveston areas.
Somewhat hopeful --- hurricanes usually lose strength and Rita is still 490 miles from landfall. Just maybe, she'll fall apart. If only she was one of "those ditzy women."
(((kassie))) what have you decided to do?
