I was sent the following amazing pictures by my sister in law because of my obsession with hummingbirds. There are 5 pages of pictures to go through and the last picture will put things in perspective for you.

That too, but honestly, the best feeder I've found is a disc-like saucer shaped feeder at Lowe's for about $10. It's easy to clean, hangs from a hook or from a string on any tree.
I don't use the store-bought hummingbird feeder mix. I just make sugar water.

Hang it up in a tree or on your porch and they will come to you. Really.

That is really amazing! I've been keeping my garage shut during the day because they kept coming in so much. I was afraid they'd run into something and get hurt since it's so cluttered in there!

What's your feed formula? I make it 4:1 water to sugar.

Had good luck with the Perky Pet feeder.

Mine too exactly! Here's the style I use because I can never get the cylindrical style clean enough:

Scroll just a bit and it's the first color picture you come to on the right.

We have a bottle brush that has been bent to clean most of the cylinder. Every so often we rinse with bleach and then rinse three times with clean water. That seems to keep the crud down. I wish there was a way to keep bugs from getting in the mix.

I used to have that problem where we lived before. Strange, but now that we're surrounded by trees, it hasn't been an issue. For some reason, these guys drink it up so fast I'm cleaning it and refilling it to often for bugs to land in it!

Ya'll have me convinced and I'll be buying a feeder and filling it with sugar water. I've kept bees in the past so not too much of a departure on that. Hummingbirds seem to migrate here (South Florida) in the months near February

Ive got Mourning doves up the wazoo around here. I was going to fix this light fixture but chose to disconnect the electricity and let the doves have it.

We put out a feeder last year.

All we got were a lot of hornets. They loved the nectar. :0)

Neat! I'd leave it, too!

We've had no rain here (just south of Charlotte, NC) for the past few weeks (not even Ophelia graced us with some showers) and I've noticed the little brown wrens taking baths in my dog's water bowls! Quite cute!

Get a feeder, and thy'll find you if there are any in the vicinity.

They can be picky, though. The feeder on my deck went out of business while the feeder over in the gardens (more shade) did a booming business.

I've found that they like the shadier spots, too!

I just refilled mine yesterday. After getting it drained twice a day suddenly it's still full. Have they moved on? I'm leaving it up for the stragglers though.
