The ChiSox need the Heimlich Maneuver, because they are choking.

Yikes, are the (Red)Sox doing a choke in tribute to the
Yanks' choke last year? Are we gonna lose the division
and maybe even not get a wildcard? Disgusting! Here I am
trying to get into the whole magic number deal but with tonight (Yanks win in bottom 9th, Sox lose a close one)
I'm afraid they'll soon start talking about the _Yanks_
and _their_ magic number!
Wake up (Red) Sox! (I gotta keep specifying so people don't think I'm referring to the OTHER Sox, who have problems of their own to worry about. Did you see the huge lead the CWS had? Now it's what, 2.5 games over Cle.?)

I visited a friend in Akron back in July and we got to see the Tribe for free (connections :) )--they lost to KC. It was very
depressing--the Indians were just not into it at all, and
we left the Jake after 8 inn. to beat the traffic.
Is this the same team that's now on a huge hot streak? wow...

Oh, ye doubters and worriers..fear not, and be of good cheer..Remember last season?...down 3-0 to the despised Yankees a few outs away from the schneid, we ran off 8 straight wins...we will drive yet another stake into the heart of the Evil Empire....Yankee fans have all collectively blocked out 2004..we ReSawx fans know how to feel, and experience angst..we will soon give them another reason for amnesia...and NO WAY Aaron Small wins tonight..

David Ortiz is only one of the 25/40. He doesn't get to bat for every player in the lineup. This team needs to sack up and stop expecting Ortiz to win games by himself.

This team needs to sack up and stop expecting Ortiz to win games by himself. Exactly. I'm finding it very difficult to "keep the faith" this year, I'm afraid. This year's Red Sox team in no way resembles the 2004 one, from what I can see. I had several conversations with other Sox fans at Fenway this weekend... I'm not the only one who feels this way. We need a miracle...

They are not good enough to win the Series this year and this is coming from someone who watches just about every game on TV. Too many weaknesses and their strengths are not showing. Plus, the mental breakdowns are showing that the team is tired and unfocused.I agree... I've also seen just about every game on TV, and about 19 or so in person at Fenway. This is not the Red Sox' year, unfortunately. :-(
If some miracle takes place and the team turns itself around, I will happily admit I was wrong.

We used to call Ed Gar Rent Urea when he made an error.
Right now I'm sorta content with Eckstein.
Specially after his walk off Grand Slam a few weeks ago.

Some Red Sox fans are looking at the standings and hoping for the Indians to fail so the ChiSox win the division and we can get the WC should we choke away the division to the Yankees.
I want to go on record as saying I am not rooting against the Indians. If we can't win enough of these final 12 games to win the division, we don't deserve to make the playoffs-- even as a WC. We are good enough to win the division and getting in through the back door because we failed to hold on to what was ours is not an option I care to cheer about.
So, Go Indians. See you in the playoffs-- on TV or in the games.
RSN, feel free to join this petition, of sorts.

Ah, band-wagonism at its best! Are you also a rent-a-Red Sox Yankee hater or do you have your own team that has suffered at the hands of the Pinstripers?
FWIW, this insufferable Yankee fan's life was not miserable last fall, for although the Boston Nine beat us, the country was saved from an even worse Boston nightmare!
BTW, I don't have any animosity for a true Red Sox fan (right nutmeg?).

Well the loosers in the West never seemed to cotton to the whole 6-team race idea, but the 4-team race is shaping up pretty good :)
C ChiSox 90-59 --
W Injuns 88-62 2.5
E RedSox 87-63 3.5
