The author goes on to blame Bush for being a bad leader. I was amazed at the logic in the second paragraph. "Facts matter far less than perception.." No wonder I find it hard to have a coherent conversation with some of those on the opposite side of the political aisle.

"Facts usually matter far less than perception, and perception is often reality."
Can't argue with that since debate is based on facts and logic, not perceptions and feelings. People that want to discuss perceptions and feelings need to get out of political debate and go to a tanning salon.

"They want to see someone who stands tall, takes charge, tells them the truth....."
why oh why would they want someone who tells them the truth if it is true that facts matter less then perception?
the liberal left want facts to matter less than perception so that when they spout their rhetoric it will be swallowed whole ...one problem--these times are a-changing and we no longer swallow THEIR perception as fact

As a leader, George Bush was a flop (BS)
How in the hell was he suppose to know there were that many idiots who REFUSED to heed warnings to get out . He DID the best anyone could do. It is NOT his job to molly coddle a bunch of lazy people who were unruly at the time. Until order was restored, he did the right thing by keeping his distance. Ray Nagin made the mess, BLAME him.
Hey, they are getting new homes, free food, clothes and money compliments of the United States American taxpayers and President. I think he is doing MORE than enough for them.

While their details are valid and their points well made, these are merely the facts. Facts usually matter far less than perception, and perception is often reality. And that is as complete a description of libs policies and beliefs as anyone needs to give.
Wonder if this writer knew that he would sum up perfectly how shallow dems are.

"Facts matter far less than perception.." After over 5 years of a tag team (RATS and MSM) trashing of a decent man is it any wonder that there may be perception problem?
But bad news lefties, Bush will do what Bush will do and I don't think that he is looking real hard at your disjointed polling results.

>>>If Hurricane Andrew helped to take the senior Bush out of the White House, Hurricane Katrina does not augur well for his son's party. . . . . . no timeline of events can overcome the dismay that permeated America as we watched his performance over the last several weeks. I do not believe he can recover from this.<<<
And Bush 43's inability to stop Katrina will somehow cause him to loose the whitehouse? Bush is not running again so how does he loose? Is Randi Rhodes, Conyers, Waters, and McKinney going to impeach him? I fail to see any logic whatsoever in this piece - LET THEM RANT.
