This is the first time I saw your tagline collection. Thanks for alerting me to it. I'll be looking for it from now on. I too have been saving interesting taglines when I run across them, almost since they were first instituted. Once I started saving them, I was sorry I didn't start sooner. There have been lots of really good ones. I probably have a thousand pages of taglines saved. Good to know I'm not the only nut who appreciates those.

The FR search only took me back to episode 26. Do you have the addresses to the first 25? If not, freepmail me and I'll give you my email address so you can (please) send them to me. Those I'd like to save. Thanks very much.

My goodness what a lot of work you did to compile this interesting list! Thanks for including me, Jigsaw. I feel honored, but more importantly, I am sure Pope JPII is smiling that his words were included.

I've got a spare if anyone wants to use it: Mercy to the wicked is cruelty to the innocent.

-----
mathluv beat you to it. His tagline reads: "Mercy shown to an evil man is cruelty to the innocent."

I collect taglines too. I'll be sending my collection to Jigsaw for inclusion in future postings (at his/her discretion, of course) as soon as I get the email address.

Thou art all most welcome. There are about 910 taglines from the last six-months. Thanks to you many Freepers who have Freepmailed me taglines -- many of them I had not spotted.

My Mom collects tag lines also.

She will love this thread... : ) <<< me

Thanks so much for that. A great read. Freerepublic has so many funny, witty, charming, and intelligent people. It is a great place to be! Thanks for putting that together. Another example of the greatness of Freepers!

You know what? I'm not going to tell you................... yes I am ............ a compilation of these taglines would be at least as good a compilation as Barlett's Quotation.

OK....... I've said it.....

I swear to God....... with a guy like me editing out the chafe, this would be BRILLIANT.

* If it ain't broke, the government hasn't tried to fix it yet.

* ANWR would look great in pumps.

* If God had been A liberal, we wouldn't have had The Ten Commandments- we'd have The Ten Suggestions.

* I believe if you can't say something good about somebody you’re probably
talking about Hillary Clinton.

* Freedom Of Speech Makes It Much Easier To Spot The Idiots.

* Smile, your mom was pro-life.

I'm still collecting taglines and almost got Edition 46 out several weeks ago.   I'll see if I can get it out this week.   It's a BIG one with over a year's worth of taglines.

Thanks for the bump.
