You mean he didn't "tie one for the Gipper" like Ara done?

Echo, I just got word:
Weis has been fired.
You're the new coach.
Time to get your...self out of the armchair.
Look, it was a heartbreaker (for those of us who love ND).
I was sort of hoping that 4th and 15 play early in the game would set the tone, for daring play, but there just wasn't enough of that stuff.
But I must say: it was one of the best college games I have seen in some time (and both my Junior ND daughter and my 12-year-old son were there).
How do you think this will affect ND in the rankings?
To: Echo Talon
Don't Mess with the BIG TEN. Last week was a fluke. We will kick your behind everytime. Goodbye ND.

I don't care who beats Notre dame as long as Notre dame goes out of the game losers.

You are so right, he really blew their chance to win. Very annoying. Hubby is annoyed too. Of course, the field goal would not have helped hubby.

They were something like 3 for 3 in 4th down conversions. Weis got greedy.

Great game. I was sitting there with my remote control switching back and forth between this game and the Miami-Clemson game which also went into overtime. If I were a Notre Dame fan I would be proud of my team and feeling pretty good about the future.

He probably did not have confidence in the kicker. It would have been about a 40 yard FG.

I would have gone for two and accepted the loss if I missed. Knute Rockne hated ties - "A tie is like kissing your sister."

This hurt very much to be sure, but I still feel good about this team, this coach, and even this season. We put up one hell of a fight and that is something that has been missing from the Irish for a very long time. Last year's Ty-coached team would've given up after MSU went up 38-17; coming back to tie and forcing overtime would've been inconceivable. We still have a long way to go, but we're on the right track.
