I love the smell of wood burning on a cold day. Makes me think of Christmas.

Wet asphalt (reminds me of childhood trips), the inside of a recently depleted Coke in a glass bottle, top shelf bourbon, and the grass, beer and BBQ smell that hits you when you step out of the concourse into a football stadium before kickoff.

"It has also been established that smells can trigger memories, good or bad, of events long ago."

As for memories triggered by smells. I will never forget waking up in the tent, in the infield at Darlington, Labor Day weekend. The smell of coffee, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes wafting through the air was fabulous.

I had a large patch of gill-over-the-ground under an oak at a house I used to own. Whenever I mowed that area, the scent was divine.

Well,
I'm genetically anomsic (I don't have a sense of smell).

I occasionally can sense a change in air texture or weight and then when someone says "Can you smell that!" I say
"Yeah, sorta".....

Then I wait for them to tell me if it's good (like flowers) or bad (like gangrene). :)

Otherwise, if you come to my house and smell something bad, please tell me...thank you.
