Redskin Will Assist Hurricane Katrina Victims
Washington Redskins linebacker and concerned citizen, LaVar Arrington, joins the Hurricane Katrina relief effort committing to assist Washington, D.C.-based victims with essentials by providing the approximately 215 displaced evacuees with a shopping trip to Wal-Mart. Arrington will sponsor the shopping spree with an initial commitment of $40,000 to meet the immediate needs of hurricane Katrina victims. The shopping spree is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Richmond Highway Wal-Mart in Alexandria, VA.
Although the American Red Cross will provide some of the basic necessities such as tooth brushes, soap and deodorant, Arrington's sponsored shopping trip to Wal-Mart will allow the displaced evacuees to obtain items such as irons, storage compartments, linens, shoes, clothes, and other household items. In the wake of rescues and relocations, Arrington's relief effort will also include sponsored outings to area attractions and restaurants, donated items and services from local businesses and Washington Redskins paraphernalia.
Organized by dmg management LLC, a sports and entertainment marketing firm based in Washington, DC, Arrington's commitment will be ongoing in an effort to acclimate the new residents to the D.C. area. "We wanted to utilize our resources and network to facilitate getting our fellow citizens what they need in moving forward with their lives," states dmg management LLC President Dawn-Marie Gray.
If there is any decency left in the world, no one will accept a contribution from someone who plays on a team called "Redskins." That contribution needs to be returned.
Why wouldn't they?
Tha's a ridiculous thing to post in this thread.
Because.
Meow.
Sell your detractors a clue Steve.
Please don't encourage this. His reason is irrelevant.
It's sarcasm.
Just kidding. This sounds like a good idea, as far as seeing where your money goes.
So how much is Snyder giving??? I'm waiting ???

They just showed a guy buying clothes for an interview that he has tomorrow - by appearances I would guess he wasn't used to shopping for work clothes at Walmart but was thankful to have something to wear. He said all he left with was the clothes on his back.
You are kidding, right?
A couple of weeks ago I was evacuated from my home for about 5 hours. I hated it. I can't imagine what these people are going through.
I see your tagline speaks of Matt Maupin - a few months back I was at my nephew's house and he was watching this pay per view special that I think was about the WWF visiting the troops in Iraq around the holidays. Throughout the show they would show comments from various troops and I couldn't believe it when they showed a guy making a comment, and underneath they said Private (or what his rank is) Matt Maupin. It swear it was him, I guess before he was captured. I wonder if his family knows about that?
sorry - I see he is Sgt. Matt Maupin.
The family receives phone calls from President Bush about Matt, I am sure he keeps them up to date.
Matt is in the same unit as my son. My son came home on Thanksgiving day last year, Matt didn't. That's one reason my tag line will stay the same until Matt comes home.
Here's my son Steve. (F.R. member "smaagee")

Thanks for the info about your son! And please, thank him for me.
