T.O.: McNabb and I talked
By Bob Brookover Inquirer Staff Writer
Terrell Owens talked again yesterday, and he promised a Super Bowl victory for the Eagles that will be followed by more discussions about his contract situation.
The Eagles wide receiver made his debut on a radio show from South Florida hosted by Dan Le Batard, a sports columnist with the Miami Herald. Owens, who is not talking to members of the local media, is scheduled to be part of Le Batard's show every Friday during the season.
In addition to saying he had no regrets about anything - surprise, surprise - Owens revealed that he has had a conversation recently with quarterback Donovan McNabb. Owens said during an interview with ESPN's Michael Irvin earlier this week that he loves McNabb and planned to speak with him before Monday night's season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.
The two men stayed clear of each other during training camp, and McNabb refused to comment Thursday about Owens' stated desire to talk to the quarterback.
"I've already talked to Donovan," Owens said. "We've already had conversations. To what extent, that's for you guys to get... . Other than that, we're getting along just fine. Just because nobody has said anything about it and it hasn't been publicized... that's something for you guys to get as a story.
"I don't hate Donovan. I never hated Donovan. I was frustrated at the time. I'm not too proud to go up to Donovan and say, 'Let's work this out or let's play ball and put everything behind us.' I know my heart, and that's the only thing that matters."
Asked what he discussed with McNabb, Owens declined to answer, but he said there was no apology from either side.
"It's none of you guys' business," Owens said. "We both have a mutual respect for each other, and we probably understand that both of us may have been wrong."
When Le Batard relayed a message on how to deal with the media from recently retired Jerry Rice, who was Owens' teammate in San Francisco, the Eagles' star receiver didn't want to hear the advice.
"Jerry Rice is not my publicist," he said.
Owens said for the umpteenth time that he's still not happy that the Eagles refused to renegotiate the seven-year, $48.97 million contract he signed before last season, but he's willing to let that issue rest for now.
"It will get resolved," he said.

I hope so, I need sleep. (sarcasm)
Was Rush there?
Forrest Gump has twice the IQ of T.O. (and can run faster too)
No. he is disgusting. I now live in Central PA and on the cover of the Patriot News several weeks ago was a summary of all the National Guard deaths - PA had 7 of them in August I believe. SO that was 3/4 of the front page, and then they put the T.O. article (he had been kicked out of camp) on that same page. Made me sick. He didn't deserve to be with those heros, anywhere.
