I think that's true, too. I would not dare buy petro products on the commodities market now. This really smells like a super top to me. There is no taking into account right now how prices like this will lessen demand - and it will, though perhaps not in the US and perhaps not immediately, but it will happen. I noticed that the commodities markets contracts for the Dec07 are lower than Dec06... and that the '08, '09, '10, and '11 are about a buck a barrel lower each year. Smart long-term commodities traders are not anticipating runaway demand and increasing prices...

So, from this table, it is clear that the energy futures closed near their lows for the day. I expect they'll continue down, as I said near the beginning of today.

That's why we are at an EXTREME disadvantage. Even FNC, the closest thing on TV we have to conservative reporting and journalism, allows this POISON to infest it and spew its lies.

The below note is from my extremely liberal son-in-law. I want to answer correctly. I do know that the idiot governor prevented intervention at the Superdome AND I do realize that getting people to the USS Bataan would be logistically impossible, is it even true? Can you all help me research this? Thanks, Bev
"Here's one of many examples: The Chicago Tribune reports that the U.S.S. Bataan, equipped with six operating rooms, hundreds of hospital beds and the ability to produce 100,000 gallons of fresh water a day, has been sitting off the Gulf Coast since last Monday - without patients. Just curious - why were the students at white Tulane Univ. evacuated 3 days before students at black Xavier University? What seems odd is that every major television network had people on the ground within 24 hours of the disaster, but it's took at least 4 days for the federal government to wade into the city with essential supplies and security. Does that make any sense?"

Just calm down Beverly! It is 4:20 p.m. on the LEFT coast, but it is the dinner hour in the east. Your friends are having dinner, a glass of wine and relaxing. Why don't you go to the kitchen and make yourself a martini abd try to calm down.
OKEYDOKEY! sounds like good advice :-)

You're cracking me up. I just got back from a hair dresser appointment and my beautiful 27-year old hair dresser is in love with the president and furious with the press.
Wish I could help answer that e-mail, but I'm so ticked off at all that I'm reading these days that I can barely put together a sentence.

Hi! I don't know about Xavier vs. Tulane, although I think Tulane made its OWN arrangements because they were getting flooded right away.
There was a GREAT report by Major Garrett on Fox. He has been digging all day. The Red Cross had water and food for the Superdome, but they were refused admission to New Orleans by GOVERNOR BLANCO! She was afraid the food and water would be "a magnet" and keep people from leaving. I am not making this up.
As far as the US Bataan, I don't know where it was originally, but "the Gulf Coast" is a pretty wide area. They have been willing to take people as soon as they were brought to them. I am not sure the information you son-in-law has is even correct about that ship.
