Hell Has Frozen Over: NBC Nightly News is talking about the flooded school buses.

The title says it all. NBC News is currently reporting on "Missed Opportunities" -- actions that could have saved lives. One of those missed opportunities is the 200+ flooded school buses. NBC is even referring to the evacuation plan and its reference to the school buses.
"Today the mayor would not comment [on the flooded school buses]," reported NBC's Lisa Myers.
I kid you not! The report is only five or six days after Free Republic reported it, and only three or four days after Drudge reported it!

I live in Louisiana and have most all of my life. I have watched the school bus story unfold for the past few days. The school buses are controlled by the parish school board, not by the mayor. There should have been better coordination of these resources. It definitely isn't a "Federal" failure as much as they wish they could pin this one on GWB. Coordination of the local governments (city, parish, state) was abysmal during this crisis.
One person that has been noticeably absent for the past couple of days is Gov. Blanco. There were problems with the governments response, but it wasn't at the Federal level. The state government really screwed this up. I find it interesting that none of the mainstream news channels is saying anything about Gov. Blanco, and I haven't seen any recent interviews with her. She is in hiding I presume.
RECALL GOV. BLANCO NOW!!!

Our local news(Fox in Portland) also ran a small piece last night about the buses and the virgin emergency plan. I dang near spilled my beer. Balanced local news, in Portland? Be proud Freepers. Scooped the MSM by a week.

Also are those school buses really sans a/c? They would become unbearable in midafternoon in the Louisiana heat as they wait for school to dismiss.

This is the equivalent of the media blaming the Titanic disaster on the slow arrival of the rescue ships, while totally ignoring the Titanic's lifeboat issue.
That's a great analogy.

The latest spin is that both the city and state were performing perfectly, even heroically, before FEMA showed up, then FEMA stopped the supply trucks, stopped the evacuation, and cut the communication lines, and so forth.
I kid you not.

Travis ...mark my words the calls for the Katrina Commission will fizzle now that questions are being asked about those buses and the emergency plan being igmored.I said it yesterday, expect the MSM to start saying "Well, now is not the time to point fingers," and actually start to give some faint praise to President Bush.

It was too obvious for even the leftwing media to ignore. They have lost a good chunk of their viewers because of blatant bias, this would no doubt prove the last holdouts that they are even more bias than could be imagined, so they have to report this.
Now, its a matter of spinning it to blame the evil Republicans.
Didn`t Nagin used to be a Republican?????
