Actor Brosnan says Bush 'has a lot to answer for' Sep 06 3:50 AM US/Eastern

DEAUVILLE, France (Hollywood Reporter) - Pierce Brosnan was the only big star on hand as the Deauville Festival of American Cinema got off to a quiet start over the weekend, and he took advantage of the spotlight to blast the Bush administration's handling of the carnage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
"This man called President Bush has a lot to answer for," the former James Bond actor told reporters Saturday. "I don't know if this man is really taking care of America. This government has been shameful."
Brosnan was in the northern coastal resort promoting the black comedy "The Matador," which opened the festival Friday. The event was overshadowed by the weightier Venice International Film Festival, which runs almost parallel to it.

And I'm a movie fan. I have a large collection of movies from the golden age, when Hollywood knew how to make a good picture and there were good actors and actresses.
Oh, i'm not sure about that. I think he
attemed to blackmail his way into an
excessive amount of money, and the studio
doing the Bond movies, finally said "screw you!"
to him.
He's got a gargantuan ego, and is a bit of a
snotty creep in real life, and is probably
likely to be offered very few roles from now on.
But then, if he was wise, he should have salted
away enough cash to live comfortably for the rest
of his life, from the money he's made allready.
Mr Brosnan's comments leave me neither shaken, nor stirred.
I presume he'll be moving to a country with a better government and signing over his California mansions to the newly homeless. Pierce, I hear France is loverly in the summer, especially for the elderly without air conditioning.
I'm going to have to go downstairs and check them out. If they are still good, I could transfer them on my RCA combo!
DVDs are supposed to last longer right? :)
Bond actor???
That's like calling George Lazenby "that Bond actor".
One of many to play the role does not a career make.
He was the star of a tv knockoff of spy films.
In the 1980s.
Has been.
Yes, I wonder how many of the poor dispalced people from New Orleans will be taken into the Brosnan mansion as guests. The same for Teddy Kennedy at his mansion in Mclean, Virginia or better yet, the huge Kennedy family summer home at Hyannis Port. I can bet the numbers these tut-tut millionaires will take in (0), and it won't compare to what religious folks of limited means will do for the displaced.
"I don't know if this man is really taking care of America."
That's the President's job, to "take care" of us, like we're the children and he's the daddy, or Big Brother?
