I have read, and read; I have listened to Radio and T.V.; I have watched the pictures on T.V. and I am sickened.

I cannot believe that in one of the worse situations that we have in our Country, we have Senator Leahy crying that "we need an investigation into what Bush was doing about this". Then you have Senator Schumer crying the blues about how Bush didn't do this and Bush didn't do that; and then you have Senator Clinton 'calling for an investigation' into why Bush was so slow on Federal Aid.

Doesn't it smell like something funny is going on here? Have we seen Senator Kerry and his 'wife' in LA? Have we seen Senator Clinton and her 'husband' with her in LA? Have we seen Senator Schumer and his 'wife' with him in LA? I sure haven't. And I have been glued to the T.V.

I have seen Fox News Channel reporters give us a up front and personal view of the flood victims and their problems. And we have heard people saying: "Thank you for the water and food, for the diapers, for the baby food, for the wheelchairs, for the busses, for the wet towels to whipe themselves off with, and a smile on their face, because SOMEBODY cared enough to help them. Was it the Gov. of LA? Was it the Mayor of NO? I don't think so...

Now comes the 'blame game' on top of all this pain and suffering of the flood victims. Just to go thur some of the situation on some of it: Emergency Aid was Authorized for LA on Saturday 8/27:

Emergency Aid Authorized For Katrina Emergency Response In LA (BUSH ORDERED AID ON 8/27!) FEMA ^ | 8/27/05 Posted on 09/03/2005 7:43:33 AM PDT by areafiftyone WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Michael D. Brown, Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response, today announced that Federal resources are being allocated to support emergency protective response efforts response efforts in the parishes located in the path of Hurricane Katrina. Brown said President Bush authorized the aid under an emergency disaster declaration issued following a review of FEMA's analysis of the state's request for federal assistance. FEMA will mobilize equipment and resources necessary to protect public health and safety by assisting law enforcement with evacuations, establishing shelters, supporting emergency medical needs, meeting immediate lifesaving and life-sustaining human needs and protecting property, in addition to other emergency protective measures. The parishes of Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, Catahoula, Concordia, De Soto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Pointe Coupee, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Helena, St. Landry, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, West Feliciana, and Winn were designated eligible for assistance. In addition, federal funds will be available for public safety debris removal and emergency protective measures at 75 percent of approved costs. Brown named William Lokey of FEMA to coordinate the federal relief effort. FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Fire Administration. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.

Somehow, FEMA was ready BEFORE the hurricane hit LA. So one has to ask, "How could Bush be slow with aid if it was already authorized? And then:

By MARY FOSTER, Associated Press Writer Sat Aug 27, 6:59 PM ET Louisianans Told: Head for Higher Ground NEW ORLEANS - Coastal residents jammed freeways and gas stations Saturday as they rushed to get out of the way of Hurricane Katrina, a vicious storm that is threatening to gain even more strength and make a direct hit on the New Orleans area. Katrina was a Category 3 storm with 115 mph sustained wind Saturday, but the National Hurricane Center said it was likely to gain force over the Gulf of Mexico, where the surface water temperature was as high as 90 degrees — high-octane fuel for hurricanes. It could become a Category 4 monster with wind of at least 131 mph before reaching land early Monday. By 5 p.m. EDT Saturday, the eye of the hurricane was about 380 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River and about 240 miles west of Key West, Fla. It was moving west at nearly 7 mph, the hurricane center said.

Still no busses for the Elderly and the Disabled... Mandatory evacuation ordered for New Orleans (Please keep this post - BUSH ORDERED EVACUATION!) NOLA ^ | 8/28/05 Posted on 09/03/2005 7:20:14 AM PDT by areafiftyone Gov. Kathleen Blanco, standing beside the mayor at a news conference, said President Bush called and personally appealed for a mandatory evacuation for the low-lying city, which is prone to flooding. (Excerpt) Read more at nola.com ...

And that isn't all....now with the above, wouldn't you think that something would be done? Guess not! Read below:

National Hurricane Director had to call Nagin at home Saturday night to plead: "Get people out..." Knight Ridder Newspapers ^ | Sun, Aug. 28, 2005 | BY MARC CAPUTO, DAVID OVALLE AND ERIKA BOLSTAD Posted on 09/03/2005 12:14:14 PM PDT by joinedafterattack MAYOR CRITICIZED EVEN BEFORE LEVY BREAK. National Hurricane Center Director had to call Nagin at home Saturday night to plead: "Get people out of New Orleans." "The criticisms of Nagin came from above as well. Numerous officials urged him to evacuate the city, but he worried about the legality of ordering people out when New Orleans has few safe hurricane shelters. Also, National Hurricane Center Director Max Mayfield in Miami called Nagin at home Saturday night and told him: Get people out of New Orleans. ''I could never sleep if I felt like I didn't do everything that I could to impress upon people the gravity of the situation,'' Mayfield said. ``New Orleans is never going to be the same.'' When a grim Nagin issued the mandatory evacuation order Sunday, he said: ``We are facing a storm that most of us have feared . . . God bless us.'' (Excerpt) Read more at philly.com ...

Now it's not up to Bush to call out the National Guard in the States, its up to the Gov. If a Mayor feels they need the National Guard then the Mayor calles up the Gov. and says so, and being deemed by the Gov, the National Guard is either called out or not. In the Constitution of LA it states:

Louisiana Constitution: Blanco Blew It Louisiana State Constitution | 9/3/05 Posted on 09/04/2005 7:12:59 AM PDT by pabianice State of Louisiana Constitution Article IV, Section 5: Duties and Responsibilities of the Governor Pp (i), section (J): "Commander-in-Chief. The governor shall be commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the state, except when they are called into service of the federal government. He may call out these forces to preserve law and order, to suppress insurrection, to repel invasion, or in other times of emergency." Why have none of the Dinosaur Media noted this? Blanco blew it big time. She should have mobilized the Guard imemdiately after the storm instead of crying on TV and doing nothing, waiting for the federal government to save her. While 3,000 LA Guard members are in Iraq, 30,000 others aren't. That dog don't hunt. The MSM continues its loathsome obfuscation of events.

Now, can we sit back and still blame Bush? Well I guess if we are Libs and RATS and the MSM, who by the way, just loves to deal Bush alot of stuff to make his life miserable, but he isn't miserable. He was in LA, MS, Al. and so was Secty of State Condi, and Our lovely First Lady, Laura (what a breath of fresh air!) and as reported today, VP Cheney will be going into the areas to make sure things are still being done.

I would like to see the libs and RATS...other than Oprah, and speaking of the 'stars' where's baby babs, and alex and the crew? Your right, not around are they? One more thing before I close, Thank You America for being America, for caring, for giving, for praying for our friends and neighbors in LA, MS, AL. May God be with them all. And especially for our Military, God Bless you people for all the hours and the love you make possible for all of us.

Just heard on ABC Radio that Oprah filmed her show at the Astrodome and demanded that the Federal Government appologize to the flood victims

Sure... Let's have an investigation.

It will only expose the LA Rat ineptitude and corruption.

and Hitlery has been fairly quiet too, other than the "investigation" request.

They're watching and waiting, to see if anything sticks. They make me sick.

Isn't it sad that prior to the hurricane hitting, the MSM was insinuating that Bush was playing up the hurricane to divert attention from Cindy Sheehan. Now suddenly he was not doing enough.

The MSM really does thing very little of its audience to assume that we are all this stupid.

We DO, need a full investigation.

It will document that the Mayor and the Governor totally ignored their own evacuation plan and left 200,000 low-income citizens in a potential death trap through inexcusable negligence.

When will the liberal MSM get over itself? These pompous, arrogant, clueless fools are Monday morning quarter backing with the usual 20/20 hindsight ... relishing it even more because they have Bush to bash. They spent the entire month of August obsessing over Cindy Sheehan ... hoping that would damage the Bush presidency ... now they have Katrina and the aftermath to try and derail Bush and his administration. Advice to the MSM ... start with the Mayor of NO and then move up to the state Governors office ... which I'm sure you won't do ... first because they're 'Rats like you ... then you have a Mayor who is black and a female for Governor ... which means they're untouchables by your convoluted sick liberal standards. Bush will be pilloried while the Mayor of NO and the ditsy female Governor of LA will walk away untarnished ...

It is not shocking. While real men and women do the job of helping the people in New Orleans, the libs do what they do best. They sit around and make snide comments and attack any republican within 100 miles.
They have no ideas, they have no solutions.
They are a party mostly made up of rich pampered elitists and poor helpless minorities who look for government for everything.
There is very little middle class and small business owners who support the libs and their outdated ideas. Everytime there is a problem all they do is WAA WAA WAA. They are usless.

The liberals have precisely one point in all of this: find any way possible to smear Bush. This isn't about truth, justice, honor, preparedness, or anything meaningful. They are trying to have a second 9/11 commission whose purpose was to smear Bush.

Personally, I think that Blanco and Nagin intentionally destroyed New Orleans in order to embarrass Bush. It's exactly waht the Dems would do, and I've got no other explanation for their wrecklessness.

I would hazard a guess that FEMA ASSUMED that the mayor and Governor of Louisiana would follow their own emergency evacuation plan. Had they followed the plan as written, there would have been loss, but not in the numbers we are going to see.

The majority of the people in the city proper made it the Superdome and the Convention Center, it is the surrounding areas where the loss of life will be the greatest.

It is difficult to mount search and rescue when plans filled with FEMA are not followed and...

Mr and Mrs Rodham-Clinton were at the Houston Astrodome meeting evacuees on Sunday? Or Monday? Along with President Bush 41. However, all the small chlidren available for publicity photos were already reserved by disaster pimps like Al Sharpton and Shelia Jackson-Lee.

Now comes the 'blame game' on top of all this pain and suffering of the flood victims.

THE BEST LAID PLANS OF MICE AND MEN.........

The first responders were ready for a hurricane but they were not ready for a one, two punch of a hurricane and a flood. Many of the first responders were incapacitated by the second punch.

Given that this was a massive disaster, EVERYONE performed well. Yes, local, state, and federal did as well as could reasonably be expected given the situation that arose.

Now the politicians are going to have investigations to determine if they can somehow score some political points or slip in a couple of cheap shots.

Really what will be happening is the education of the committees as to the functioning of government during times of crisis.

In order to pretend that they have accomplished something the committees will propose changes to the law or reorganization of the government.

All the while of course they will be running out the clock on the Bush administrations time in office.
