I am trying to post in the Katrina section, but the "POST" link does not appear at the top with the other option links. What do I have to do to post there? Please email me at rocketfett@yahoo.com and let me know. I just joined an hour ago. Thank you.
What Katrina section? In a thread? Or start your own thread?

Click "forum" and then post your message. If the mods like it, they will move it to the Katrina section soon enough.
Thanks all for the help. I am logged in. Came back and input my ID and PW when I got the confirmation email and changed my PW to something I'd remember. Yet when I go to the Katrina section on the main page, there is no "POST" text link at the top right where the other main text links are. So I don't see it anywhere visible like on this section where the "POST" text link appears. More help please. :)
Okay, I guess a Mod or something helped me out, I see the keywords. So I'll post my letter. So if someone wants to delete this thread I made that would be great. Thanks for all the very fast help. :)

Git yerself onto a thread that interests you, pick one of the posts at random for starters, click that 'Post Reply' thing and start typin'.
That'll get ya in the door and most everyone will steer you in the right direction w/varying degrees of flame.

Allen, sometimes from the main forum page there is no post button, I've noticed this too. Click on the most likely topic, if you are posting a news story, with a link, pick the most appropriate forum, say: News/Activism. If it is from a blog, select Blogs and Personal.
Thanks to everyone that helped out, when I first got here, I was fraom being a "newb" but it still took me a l-o-n-g time to figure out all the little nuances of away things are done around here, getting advice is pretty touch because of the wise-ass comments that flow in and the moderators don't answer question.
One thing I reccomend is looking at the "General Interests" of a forum, to see if your post isd appropriate there.
Free REpublic is awesome but it's functionality can be a little difficult to figure out.

You have to use ALT-F4 to post into the Katrina thread catagory.
