some rapper punk or whoever was just on trying to get people to donate money to the red cross. He was on with Mike Myers (Wayne's World). Mike Myers asked people to donate...then Kanye West went on a tirade about Iraq, Mike Myers said something else, and then Kanye says "GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE!"
WHAT A FREAKING OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!
You know I would be interested to see how many other people at that benefit had their jaws drop it seems like Mike Meyer and Chris Tucker were truly taken aback...
Matt Lauer on the other hand fluttered his eyelashes during his so called CYA for the benefit that I thought he was going to make out with the teleprompter.
That MSNBC is streaming that part for all to see on its website is irresponsible and reprehensible.

Statement from NBC regarding tonight's comments from Kanye West on the telethon:
"Tonight's telecast was a live television event wrought with emotion. Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks. It would be most unfortunate if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion."

I'll trust my church and the money I give to them. I know they are entrenched in relief efforts. But no organization represented with thugs like Lauer or West will get moeny from me. It won't make a difference, but it will make me feel better. And I guarantee, I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I called the Red Cross and told them that if I had not already donated to them I would send my money to the Salvation Army. I also told them that someone from the Red Cross needed to apologize since this was a Red Cross fundraiser. The person I was talking to said that they (Red Cross) were not happy with his comments and hoped that the donations did not go down after that.
Yah. I got that. It would seem disclaimers abound...especially when it comes to minorities.
Why do they let these stupid jackasses comment about this stuff? Because they have one talent, they think they're experts on everything. West's opinions are no more valid, and obviously in many cases less valid, than anyone else's.
I had never heard of the guy until tonight. I can see that I had not been missing anything.
