Top 10 Songs that We Want to See a Freeper Sing (vanity)
PA Times | 9/1/05 | Dr. Pissant

Anyone who spends a few months lurking around FR will quickly recognize the diversity of talents and personality types that make up this group we call freepers. Since song threads tend to be so popular, I thought it only appropriate that we have a Freeper Karaoke Night to showcase those personalities.

Below are the Songs I think are most appropriate for our beloved fellow freepers to warble!

Top 10 Songs that Freepers Should Sing

10. Hell in a Bucket - Grateful Dead sung by Willie Green

9. I Love it When You Call Me Names - Joan Armatrading sung by Jersey Republican Biker Chick

8. Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top as sung by Mr. Jeeves

7. I Honestly Love You - Olivia Newton John as sung by Dashing Dasher to Pissant

6. Halfbreed - Cher as sung by Teenyelliott

5. I'm a Loser - Beatles as sung by Argh

4. Where Have all the Flowers Gone - Peter, Paul and Mary as sung by Peacebaby

3. Dancing on the Ceiling - Lionel Ritchie as sung by F16 Fighter

2. I Touch Myself - DiVinyls as sung by Najida

1. White Punks on Dope - The Tubes as sung by Darksheare

"Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" (Rod Stewart)--Miss Behave

And of course, myself, Fierce Allegiance, Constitution Day, martin_fierro, tijeras_slim; owl_eagle; tomservo, and kent doing our barbershop octet version of "The Boys Are Back In Town" (Thin Lizzy)

LOL, B! I LOVE IT. WAY too funny--especially the visual of my fave, witty, hulking guys singing "The Boys Are Back In Town." We used to sing that one at the top of our lungs in my friend's uber-cool convertable powder blue Porche.

MUAAAAAHHH!!!!! (Watch out for that monster, heavily lip-glossed kiss coming your way at the speed of light.) Listen for the sonic boom. :-)

I also like to sing "Short Skirt, Long Jacket," by the awesome "Cake." I'll go get my Condi boots. Turn it up!

It is all FUNKTASTIC!!!

YOU GOT ME DOIN' THE WILD THING:

Let's do it!
Working all week nine to five for my money
So when the weekend comes I go get live with the honey.
Rolling down the street I saw this girl and she was pumping
I winked my eye she got into the ride went to a club
it was jumping.
Introduced myself as Loc
she said: You're a liar.
I said: I got it going on
baby doll
and I'm on fire.
Took her to the hotel
she said: You're the king.
So be my queen
if you know what I mean
and let's do the wild thing.
Wild thing - wild thing.
Shopping at the mall
looking for some bear to buy
I saw this girl
she cold rocked my world
and I had to adjust my fly.
She looked at me and smiled and said: You got plans for th night?
I said: Hopefully if things go well I'll be with you tonight.
So we journeyed to her house
one thing led to another
I key in the door
cold hit the floor
looked up and it was her mother.
I didn't know what to say
i was hanging by a string
She said: Hey you two
I was once like you
and I liked to do the wild thing.
Wild thing - she loved to do the wild thing -
Wild thing - please
baby baby please!
Posse in effect
hanging out is always hyped
And with me and the crew
leaving a shindig with a girl who's just my type.
Saw the lucious little frame
I lie fellows she was fine.
This sweet young miss cold gave me a kiss
and I knew that she was mine.
Took her to the limousine
still parked ouside
I tipped the chauffeur when it was over and gave her on my own ride.
Couldn't get her off my jock
she was like static cling
But that's what happens when bodies start slapping
from doing the wild thing.
Wild thing - she wonna do the wild thing - please
baby
please.
Doing a little show
at the local discotheque
This fine young chick was on my jock
so I said: What the heck?
She wanted to come on stage and do a little dance
So I said: Chill for now
but maybe later you'll get your chance.
So when the show was finished
I took her round the way
And what do you know
she was good to go
without a word to say.
We was alone and she said: Tone
let me tell you one thing:
I need fifty dollars to make you holler
I get paid to do the wild thing.
Say what
yo luv
you must be kidding
you walk you ready
let's break on outta here
hasta la vista
baby.
Wild thing.

I've got I Wish It Would Rain, do a mean:
"The image of my tear-stained face
Pressed against the window pane
Eyes search the sky
Desperately for rain"

"To the world outside
I can never explain
But I wish it would rain"

Dancing Queen

You can dance, you can jive,
having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music’s high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen

You’re a teaser, you turn ’em on
Leave them burning and then you’re gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen

There are good power ballads (excluding most of the ones by the 80s cutout-copycat bands).

Oh, look - we are an item - wait, I thought you were an item with some other guy on this thread? I'm confused.

Anyway, the only concert I have ever been to in my life was barry manilow in 1979 or so - my girlfriend made me do it.

Or, at least, that's my story...and I'm sticken to it!

Sponge - Velveteen

Deluxe, sublime
Gigantic for all time and Space
I wish for you the stars bow down
I wish for you their infinite Crown
In Velveteen I will surround
With Velveteen in your name
In Velveteen I will surround
I'll keep this Velvet in your name
I'll keep this Velvet from the Rain
So long - Sleep well
Your purity speaks well - as you lay
With all these flowers in your bed
With all these flowers you had lent Away
In Velveteen I will surround
With Velveteen in your name
In Velveteen I will surround
I'll keep this Velvet in your name
I'll keep this Velvet in your name
I'll keep this Velvet in your name
I'll keep this Velvet from the Rain
