Yes, at the same time I was pinging ya'll. :)
I'll catch ya tonight Nork.
Looks like tb and I are still tied after qualifying. He's channeling Bo. Must have something to do with dreams of ribeyes.
Very sad but perhaps a blessing since he has been so ill the last few months, prayers for his family.
Another problem facing the President.
See...I really am a nice guy. Now tell Bo to get a job and buy his own rib-eyes...
Joe Gibbs Racing: Tony Stewart will be donating his earnings from Sunday's Sony HD 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race to the American Red Cross, and his race team -- Joe Gibbs Racing -- will match whatever that amount is. In addition, the uniform Tony Stewart wears in the Sony HD 500 will be signed and auctioned off on Ebay, with the proceeds also going to the American Red Cross.
Here is what Joe Gibbs Racing is doing:
After contacting several relief organizations, it became clear that the major needs were cash contributions and the use of aircraft to shuttle key personnel and supplies to the affected areas. Although crews and airplanes were already dispatched to California Speedway, JGR was able to coordinate the use of its 19 passenger G-1 for several key rescue efforts. On Thursday, the JGR plane took a team of doctors equipped with medical equipment to Baton Rouge, La., along with many cases of bottled water and Powerade. Later this weekend, JGR will coordinate a team from Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse as they deploy to Mobile, Ala. JGR has committed its aircraft for an ongoing effort with Samaritan's Purse in shuttling key personnel in and out of the disaster area. Additionally, JGR is accepting donations to both the Red Cross and Samaritan's Purse on their website, www.joegibbsracing.com as well as at each of its souvenir trailers at the remaining races. JGR has challenged its employees to make donations, all of which will be matched by the company. Many of JGR's sponsors are working together to activate significant relief efforts, details of which are still to come.(9-2-2005)
In Tony's words...
"We're donating everything that we win this weekend, prize money wise. Joe Gibbs Racing will donate it all down there. Plus I organized five trucks and trailers with my USAC team. We're loading up six truck loads of water through the Franklin Graham Foundation and sending six truck loads of water down there. We're just trying to do anything we can right now to at least help them get a start in the right direction."
Thanks for the ping! What a wonderful thing Tony Stewart is doing....he is a great American as well as an awesome race car driver.
Over on the Morning Talk Shows thread, Bush bashers were everywhere. It was downright disgusting. Conservative officials did not retaliate basically saying, "There will be plenty of time to go over mistakes, for now we have work to do"......paraphrasing Rumsfield.
It sure is strange to have a Sunday night race.
Shhhh, keep this quiet, the hurricane season is just coming into its peak.
I've had to refrain from watching anymore "news" coverage to keep the TV in one piece for the race tonight.
September storms? yep
It is time for another Gibbs win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
