A Lipstick President

A Lipstick President

The president is working up a sweat, keeping that perfectly toned body perfectly toned. I slide past stone-faced men with earpieces and ask the president how it's going.

"Good," she says, grinning. "People ask me if there could really be a woman president and I say, Of course, it's the 21st century."

Geena Davis was shooting a rowing scene at the Potomac Boat House on Monday morning for her new ABC show, "Commander-in-Chief," about the first woman president.

Luckily, the first woman president is tall, a shade taller than W., so she's eyeball to eyeball with generals and ambassadors. And she's a redhead. Redheads, a recent study showed, have a higher tolerance for pain. In the show's premiere, a lot of pain is dished up for Ms. Davis's character, Mackenzie Allen, the vice president of a conservative president who keels over before the first hour is over.

Nobody wants the vice president, a political independent, to be Madame President. Not the president, who tells her before he dies to resign so his ally, the archconservative speaker of the House played by Donald Sutherland, can get the job. Not the president's chief of staff. Not her sulky, sexy conservative teenage daughter. Even her supportive (and faithful) politico husband gets skittish after East Wing staffers begin calling him "the first lady" and arrange his meetings with the White House chef.

Woman is fine for Prez. It's LIBERAL woman I don't want...or Liberal man for that matter.

Conservative is what I care about. Whether or not the person is male or female matters not.

That being said, the ads for this show are a joke.

What, you don't think that Donald Sutherland playing the mean conservative Speaker of the House bent on chasing Gina out of the Oval Office so he can take over is believable?

In addition to being a public joke and grossly dishonest, Dowd is getting forgetful in her old age. We have already HAD a lipstick President, though that President was rather creative in where to put the lipstick.

Has Dowd lost track of Billyjeff Clinton and Monica Lewinski? Despite the anatomical impossibility, Dowd is a putz.

Update

According to TV Guide, the Geena Davis character chooses
a Democrat to be her VP when she takes over. Let's see.
GOP P chooses independent VP gal to enhance his chances
w/women voters (according to TVG) as if there is no
such thing as a female Republican. GOP prez has a
stroke. He asks VP to step down and allow the conserva-
tive Speaker of the House to take over as prez. She
refuses and chooses a Democrat Veep.

Sounds like the type of thing the low class left
would do. The voters elect a Republican and his
VP stabs the voters in the back. That is acceptable
in Hollywood and it stands to reason. Here in the
golden state the Democrat controlled legislature
has no problem ignoring the voters after they have
expressed their will through the initiative pro-
cess.

All the rest aside, ABC is trying to warm the pop-
ulace up to the idea of a female president. As
usual, the MSM misses the mark. Most of us don't
have a problem with the idea of a female CIC.
We just don't happen to like the same woman that
they would prefer.......................
