Where are the pledges of sympathy and support for America from the world?
Where are the Hollywood do-gooders and their live-aid concerts?
Where are all those in the world who openly profess their hatred for America, and hold out their hands first for our generous help?
The pictures on the news tell the awful story of the costs...in human life, in human suffering, in economic devastation.
All foreign aid should immediately cease. The American people need our help...NOW.
But honestly, I hate whining. We're Americans. We pick up ourselves and carry on. We don't need the vacant sympathy of Hollywood or Europe. We need to get off our butts and get busy cleaning up and caring for the victims.
It's only been 2 days, what do you think they can do, that isn't already being done?
More was said and done sooner with regard to the Tsunami...just pointing it out.
Most foreign aid comes with a price. We should only accept help from our true friends who aren't looking to propagandize their help.
"But honestly, I hate whining."
I'm not whining...just pointing out the obvious...
"We're Americans. We pick up ourselves and carry on. We don't need the vacant sympathy of Hollywood or Europe. We need to get off our butts and get busy cleaning up and caring for the victims.
Couldn't agree with you more.
MSNBC is reporting that an aid concert is being set up.
"Most foreign aid comes with a price."
Except in the case of U.S. aid...
"We should only accept help from our true friends who aren't looking to propagandize their help."
Our true friends...England, Australia, Poland...I'm not even looking for their financial assistance. A word or two of support would have been nice. But, perhaps they've already given in and the MSM failed to report it, (quelle surprise)
I'm guessing that had more to do with the 100k+ people that died.
I don't get it. Our median household income is $62,000 a year. Do you want Thailand to send money as a repayment for tsunami relief? They're lucky to make $1000 a year. We're America. We don't need support from the rest of the world.
Well, we don't exactly know how many lives will be lost with this now, do we?
Ah, but 2 days after the Tsunami, that UN jerk was complaining about how little the US has donated. . .
How much does a word of sympathy, or show of support cost?
My point exactly.
I don't think the enormity of this disaster has truly set in yet.
Let them stay quiet, the last thing we need is another Hollywood "Hey We Care" production like with 9/11 and the Tsumami, and please for the love of all that is humanity, do not let Elton John come up with a song for this.
It hasn't...but the smug, self-righteous comments have.
Russia has offered aid

"Let them stay quiet"
Let them help out their fellow Americans...
While we don't need a cent from those parasites in Europe and Hollywood, I'll note that the only foreign countries I know of that have expressed sympathy for the US in the aftermath of Katrina are the UK, Israel and the Vatican.
That speaks volumes about the supposed "moral weight" of world opinion.
