Cruise Ships for the Homeless in the Gulf?(Just a thought.)

The idea came up this a.m. that maybe since there is going to be a huge problem involving rescue and temporary housing of the homeless from the Katrina hurricane in the Gulf that maybe cruise ships could be used. And the S.S. Hope might be used for those who undoubtedly will need medical care.

It actually was part of the interstate highway system. there is supposed to be a 5 mile stretch of level, straight, and unimpeded highway every so often on the system. There are probably places in the great plains where this is so, but we all know that in urban areas, this is impossible. In NO, many, many of the freeways are elevated or have bridges over the various waterways.

Thanks. That's what I had assumed.

I just heard that the Comfort will be leaving Baltimore on Friday.

(You know, the same class of people that stormed, pushed-and-shoved their way into the SuperDome.)

I saw people in line at the Superdome that were not only being patient, but were in pretty good spirits considering they were outside waiting in the rain with a hurricane coming.

None are US flag. I don't think Uncle Sugar could get them on a bet. A carrier however could hold thousands. The JFK is rotting away in Pensacola I think. Somewhere in the vicinity. Oh yea and she comes with MARINES to stop looting.

Yeah, put all those people looting on a cruise ship...

Right..Can you imagine what the cruise ships will look like after the Dome refugees have camped there for weeks & weeks?

They're just lookin' for something to trash. They missed out on the looting.
