I first saw it when we got cable a few years ago. TV Land pulled it from their lineup shortly thereafter, and I haven't seen it since.

I first saw this show (on and off) during its original run and in occasional reruns during the 1970s. As far as I can recall, they NEVER had reruns of this show in my area after the 1970s (with the exception of cable tvs TV Land). Unfortunately, I lost my cable tv (couldnt afford it anymore) just before my local cable company added TV Land to its service. Just my luck.

A shame. It was a good show (and infinitely better than the pathetic garbage they're playing now...Sanford & Son indeed!).

Whats wrong with Sanford and Son? :-) (all 6 seasons of Sanford and Son are out on DVD) with the exception of some below par episodes, it was a pretty good show. Not GREAT, mind you, but quite alright.

With taste, I guess, it's always hard to explain. Some specific complaints are Lamont's completely irreverent (this is quite an understatement) treatement of his father, and the constant faked heart attacks. All in all, I could never get into the show (with, admittedly, a few exceptions).
