Reports are that Microsoft's next full IE release (not a point release) will be for Vista only (hopefully that's old info and they've regained their sanity). If so, it's the best gift third-party browsers could ever ask for...

Not true. IE7 will ship on XP and Vista.

I've hear vista and XP but Golden eagle has assured me despite the fact w2k has left mainstream MS support unpdate will continue as they have for the past 5 years..

I've used IE7 Beta on an XP machine.

I don't know if that means they'll be releasing a stand alone version but, I suspect they will, to compete with FireFox.
