Okay. Pet-peeve time...

We use RPM to distribute the Linux version of our software to great effect. The scripting abilities and such make it a very versatile and powerful tool. With one command, we can generate packages for multiple architectures - Each package containing a complete ChangeLog that details the entire history of the package to that release point. The recursive dependencies thing is due in large part to developers not using it properly. Oddly, RedHat themselves seem to be the worst of the lot.
