Good luck!

Yay, my advisor's out with a sick baby so I don't have to try to communicate in my hoarse voice without infecting him. That makes today sooo much easier. All I have to do is handle three emergencies, go to class, and start on my mountain of homework. Friday!

Well, I'm back.

That was both far worse and somewhat better than I thought it'd be.

I did indeed get lost. Very, very lost. For much longer than I thought possible. Half the roads in the area are closed due to construction, and my directions I had written out didn't work, and everything was all roundabouts and other closed roads, so I couldn't find any other way there. And then it took me awhile to figure out how to call anyone at all, as I didn't have the phone number of the place OR of the staffing agency that referred me. I finally found the staffing place's number in my received calls, though I was guessing - doesn't show up with Caller ID, and I didn't know if it was even work.

And then, the lady went through Mapquest to find me directions, and I got lost again.

I finally found a building that had the right name, sorta, and though it wasn't the right place, she was able to tell me where to go. By then, I was late, even though I'd driven down to be there nearly half an hour early. So I was holding back tears - there's almost nothing that is more humiliating than being LATE for a JOB INTERVIEW!! Especially due to incompetence.

So...I finally found the place. It's a GORGEOUS building...one of those kinda office buildings that are all glass and natural wood and stone. Really pretty. And new. And at first I thought I STILL had the wrong place as there were herds of what appeared to be college aged folks wandering around in jeans and t-shirts.

But it was the right place. They do casual Friday, turns out. They joshed me a bit because of havin' to be dressed up on a day they were all casual.

The interview itself...was weird. I got asked a few questions - kind of a quick run-down of my experience - but it was really, really fast. And I learned about what they do, but that was fast, too. And they chatted a bit about the places I'd lived, which didn't really have anything to do with anything, but was kinda nice. Didn't laugh at me for mentioning anything personal, which is what happened in the last interview.

But it was really fast. I didn't think to even ask about benefits. I just admired the building, chatted about the job (phone technical support for their software, mainly), and left. And they said they're hiring for two positions, wanted to know what shift I'd like best, and that they'd be in touch. Which sounds positive, I think. But the fact that it all went so fast...I dunno! I guess we'll see.
